  1. Hi all,

I am trying to find a bit more info on Marella Voyager. I am torn between a Jan 2024 cruise on Discovery and Voyager.

Does anyone know if the Voyager will have movies at sea ? (I can see from the deck plans there is an indoor cinema but not sure if there is the usual outdoor one too).

Also in relation to cabins, looking at a large balcony cabin at the aft of deck 10, does anyone know where I can find info on these, what I really want to know is do you feel a lot of movement from these cabins.

Thank you in advance for any help. 😊

  2. Hi all,

Planning on booking a cruise on the Norwegian Getaway on 24th February 2023.

    The itinerary is:

    Day 1 & 2 - stay in NY

    Day 3 - Embark NY

    Days 4 & 5 - at sea

    Day 6 - San Juan

    Day 7 - Saint Kitts

    Day 8 - Barbados

    Day 9 - St Lucia

    Day 10 - Antigua

    Day 11 - St Thomas

    Day 12 - Puerto Plata

    Days 13 & 14 - at sea.

Day 15 - back in NY - fly home (UK)

I have a couple of questions if anyone can help me out please, this is my first time to the US and first cruise of this type.

    1) Ports of call - are you able to get off at most ports of call and hit the beach for the day? or is it better to book excursions.

    2) I know New York will be cold at this time of year but hoping for warmer weather on the cruise. Are the sea days travelling from New York, likely to be freezing? I expect the first one will but not sure how long it takes to hit the warmer weather (obviously I know whether can always change but just to give me a rough idea).

    3) The cruise I am looking at has the Premium drinks package included - do I have to pay gratuities on top of this and if so, does anyone know how much?

    4) Does anyone know how much the daily service charge is for the cruise?

Thank you in advance for any replies.

above the cabins above the lifeboats

deck 13 is immediately below the overhang

  4. So glad to hear a positive Preziosa experience - people have been complaining a lot  about Preziosa and we have booked an 19 day cruise on her from the 1st November. Never had a bad MSC cruise yet but great to hear you experience was good. Can you tell me which dining room the anytime dining was in for the Aurea passengers??? no one seems to be able to answer my question.

I really hope you have a great cruise! I believe the Aurea anytime dining was in the Golden Lobster ☺

  5. Just got home from a week on the Preziosa around Northern Europe - will do a full review when I get a mo and post the link here in case anyone is interested. Just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone on here who has been so helpful with answering my numerous questions over the past few months. 6. so im on Preziosa now- the ship is beautiful but its been a bit of a magical mystery tour; as Sidari said, leaving 2 hours late from Southampton due to people arriving back late from tours, to the extra day in Zeebrugge, to the curtailed Hamburg port due to the festival and now due to the France strike, no Le Havre so going to Rotterdam instead (although I'm happy with this one) - I'm enjoying myself but think the lack of communication over changes and poor organisation has let it down a bit - not the things they can't help i.e. strikes and weather,

Cant fault the beautiful rooms, and ive enjoyed the experience so far, and spending time with my family is priceless - but i think it still needs to find its identity a bit in my opinion (but then perhaps I'm just too british!) - btw food lets it down a little though sports bar is my favourite place to eat and drink by far!

just to add - on our second day in Zeebrugge we braved the early rain and walked to the train station and caught the train to Ghent - so glad we did! what a beautiful place! cost us 17 euros each, visited castles and churches and loved it a lot! we were also lucky that despite getting soaked on the way to the station (and getting lost) we dodged all the heavy rain and even had the sun come out!

We also loved the parade and fireworks tonight in Hamburg - great to be a part of it

Glad to hear you are having a lovely time. ☺ sounds like it's been an interesting change in itenary. Just a quick question, are you able to tell me if you have to pay extra for the food in the sports bar ? Thank you 😊

  7. Taken from another site.

It is a sensor-packed wristband that will, among other things, allow guests to access their cabins using the short-range wireless technologies NFC and RFID. The bracelets will also communicate with up to 16,000 beacons placed around each ship.

They will be able to track you where ever you go :)

Wow that's clever technology :-) Thank you
