The aft end of the ship will have the longest view of NYC when leaving.

    Thanks all for replies.

On the agent website there’s not too many cabins towards the aft of the ship. I’ve whittled them down to the below port-side balcony cabins:

    8D - 8142, 8144, 8146 (all seem quite close to front)

    6D - 10136, 11140, 11148 (again, all quite close to front)

4D - 6170 (close to elevator), 9222 (between 2 humps so view may be somewhat restricted)

I’m edging towards 6170 as there is only a few $ difference between the 3 category types. Is there anything else I should consider?

    cheers

  2. We were on the Allure a few weeks ago and ate in Giovanni’s. We both had pork belly for starter and both had pasta for mains (my wife had gf pasta). The waiter actually asked us when ordering if we also wanted the fillet mignon to share along with our pasta dishes. They are pushing more than one entree if anything. The food was delicious

  3. Oh, an easy solution to this? Drink cards for everyone. They sell a drink card that will get you 15 drinks a day for $75/day, 20 drinks a day for $90/day, etc, etc. The drinks get loaded onto the SP cards of everyone in a cabin. "Share" all you want. You want to buy for a friend, no problem. You still get the "all inclusive" feel, your drinking is already paid for before you get on the ship, there are different levels based on how much you drink, you save money, it can be used for heavy and light drinkers in the same cabin, RCI is getting more per drink than than the current packages. You can do similar "cards" for soda, water, whatever. Win-win. It's just figuring out how many drinks for each day and what they'd cost.

If you run out of drinks, you can recharge on board, but for a higher cost.

So i can currently get 20 drinks per day for $43 now and you’re proposing I should be paying $90? Do you work for RCCL by any chance?

  4. Thanks all for the info - really useful

We’ve booked the full dining package. So we should go to suite lounge as soon as we board to get these booked? Even before we go to our room (as it probably won’t be ready?). When do we receive our sea pass? Do we need this to book dining times?

And as speciality lunches are also included for sea days, do we need to book these or just walk ins?

  5. I asked the same question to RC this week (sailing Allure in 3 months), response below:

    Hello,

Thank you for sharing information regarding your gluten allergy.

Gluten free items are noted on our Main Dining Room menus.

Please meet with the Head Waiter in the Main Dining Room and Restaurant Managers at other dining venues to review the menus and identify selections you wish to have modified or avoided.

All items prepared for guests with food allergies are handled separate from the main food production.

When the guests eat in the Windjammer, please ask for a manager so they can arrange to get a meal from the galley. This will avoid any cross contamination that may occur at the buffet.

You can bring dry, nonperishable food items such as cookies, crackers, chips, energy bars, etc. You may also bring your own individual packets of salad dressings. However, you may not bring onboard perishable food (items that require refrigeration, freezing, and/or reheating).

    Best regards,

  6. Hi all,

The info. on here has been invaluable so far in us choosing the Allure as part of our honeymoon holiday coming up. We’ve booked a grand suite given the occasion.

With that I still have a few questions I’m hoping some can help us with....

How many bars are on-board? I want to try and get a drink in each of them.

If you’ve purchased the deluxe drinks package, can you order drinks/ cocktails to your room? And if so, any charge for this?

We may buy 2/3 speciality meals package, once onboard is it best to go and book these restaurants and then book coastal kitchen for remaining nights? Can we do all these bookings in the one location or do we need to go to each restaurant we want to book?

I’ve booked mamma Mia, the aqua show and one comedy night online. Is the comedy show different every night ? Or is it generally the same show across the 7 nights?

For barefoot beach on Labadee, the cabanas are quite expensive, if you don’t book these, I take it the sun beds across the beach are free? We’re thinking of doing the dragon zip line and then to barefoot, are these all within walking distance of the ship?

Any tips for something to do on both Falmouth and Cozumel?

Lastly, we have a flight from Miami airport at 12.30 after disembarkation, will this be tight for time? Should we bring our own luggage off early? Will taxis be available in port for onward travel to the airport?

    Thanks in advance to everyone!
