  1. Michae Bayona and Brian Buritica emails are bouncing back. I spoke with a host and she said they’re no longer with carnival. Anyone know who the new “Michael” is? I’ve heard from Vanessa Pearson who I’m guessing is a “Brian” equivalent but wondering who the new manager is?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. A cruise line asks for no shorts at dinner and you feel it is perfectly acceptable to ignore that? Why would you do that?

When I pay thousands of dollars I feel I should be allowed to be comfortable and enjoy a vacation. I do wear pants to dinner, mostly jeans except on formal nights, but I respect everyone's decision to wear what they please on their vacation. I dress up every day for work-I'd like to not have to on vacation. Like I said I do wear pants- but when I'm on my vacation-the LAST thing I'm worried about is what someone else is wearing in the dining room. My cruise is not about them. They can wear whatever they like and I wouldn't even notice as I'm usually too involved in conversation and having a great time with my SO and whomever else we may dine with.

I've never had the problem of being bored enough to rant about other passengers' clothing.

  3. We are out by the pool around 8 to spend the morning.

If a chair is not occupied for 1/2 hour-45 minutes, I ask the pool staff to remove the belongings. If they do not I will and hand the staff the belongings.

So if you come out early, reserve chairs and go back to bed. I am sorry. ;)

I do this too. There's a 40 minute rule for a reason. If you aren't using the chair why put your things on it?

  4. They actually had the Pub Crawl with the CD. I am not sure the amount, maybe $25?? And you go to each bar, have a drink, they have something for you or you do something....we didn't do it because we had primo seats at the Atrium bar where all the action was, but our friends did and they had a BLAST! Again, not sure if it's the norm or just the Journeys cruise. I wonder too if it depends on the CD and what they want to plan for the day. :)

That's awesome. I wish I was on this one! I'll be on one for Valentine's Day-I doubt they'll do anything like this for that.

  5. I can still never understand why other people get bothered by what someone wears. It's none of your business.

I won't wear shorts in the MDR simply because I'd feel weird, but I've no problem with people who do. I also wear a suit everyday for work, so don't fancy wearing one every night while on holiday.

I've also seen people in shorts who look much smarter and better presented than someone wearing an ill fitted suit or clothes from another era.

If you don't want to wear shorts, don't. If you don't want to suit up or go fancy, then don't.

If some stranger wears an outfit that bothers you, then deal with it and get some perspective.

Amen!! Everyone should worry about themselves and vacations should be relaxing and worry-free. If you're offended by someone wearing shorts then don't pay attention to them or leave.

  6. Hi - we have been on several disney cruises in the last few years and my husband and my two boys have always worn nice kaki short to dinner every night (and never felt awkward or out of place). We are traveling on the Liberty in March - - how acceptable is it for them to wear shorts to dinner (MTD)? Thx!

Shorts will be fine. Except on any formal nights. People here won't agree and you may see some backlash from the older peeps. It's a vacation after all. :)
