I recently called and switched the booking from a deal my husband got to one I received after initial booking with no problem. I did have to pay extra on the deposit but it was well worth it!

The one time we've had a balcony, it was a cove on the Magic and we loved it! We liked it so much that we are booked the same exact cabin in October!

As for stopping to pick up drinks/wine, when we used Lyft, I was able to put in Walgreens address(which I google mapped) as a stop and the port as our final destination.

I cannot answer the muster question, but a table for 2 was always available for us using YTD. 

I am waiting on the same time frame. I want to be one of the 1st to book for the 4th of July week 2021! We'll be celebrating our 10th year anniversary and want to book a suite for the 1st time ever!

So I finally called and did the upgrade since the cost of the cove has gone $20 cheaper than the DOV I booked! So in the end we only lost $30 in onboard credit for the upgrade. I'm good with that!:cool:

Pay attention to what is above you if you switch. The cove cabins between the mid ship and aft elevators have the galley above them and could be noisy. Your best bet is if you can get a cabin forward of the mid ship elevators. Under the dining room is a good quiet location.

Thanks for the info! I have been looking a cabin near the elevator under the guest services desk. I figure that it shouldn't be too loud there.

I've booked and paid in full for DH and I a Deluxe Ocean View on the Magic in July, but since the cove balcony doesn't cost much more, I am thinking of calling Carnival to do an upgrade. What do you all recommend? Stay with DOV or go for the Cove balcony? Are the rooms about the same size? We have only stayed in interior cabins before. TIA

No. Baked potato the same, but they did have some excellent whipped potatoes. Baked Onion Soup is the same, just in a bigger bowl which was too much. The cheesecake was gross. I heard so many people rave about it so I couldn't wait for dessert. Well it wasn't New York Cheesecake and I'm not sure what it was. Had a chocolate crust and freaking coconut in it! Disgusting. I hate coconut and was picking it out of my teeth.

OH NO!! I was looking forward to the cheesecake based on other posts, but, like you, I hate coconut!!! That just ruins it!

That is so funny! I did the same thing recently (switched from early to YTD) and hoping I did the right thing for DH and I.

Wonder if that's a Carnival Website thing for billing purposes....7th day of Cheers finishes at 6am on the last day of the Cruise???...in this case both our Cheers and our Fun Shops purchases, which we requested to be delivered Embarkation Day, are dated as the 2nd day...

My Fun Shop purchase shows 2nd day also, so I called and the rep said it shows in the system that I requested the 1st day of embarkation. So maybe it is a system glitch.
