  1. I saw on a FB group that they are estimating the port to re-open Nov 1st. Jacks shack said they made out ok but the rest of the island needs alot of work. The owner said they are eager to get the ships coming back so maybe it will happen before Nov. 1st? Im not sure WHO announced nov. 1st but i saw someone else say "maybe it will re-open before the projected Nov 1st" so someone somewhere found that info.

Maria did quite a bit of damage on GT, not so much in provo etc.

I am also curious to know what it will all look like, i am booked 11/25.

  2. Note: The Premier Beverage Package on Australian and New Zealand voyages features the same inclusions, but due to currency conversions, the new price is AU$86.99 per day including gratuity across all Australian-based vessels. A spokesperson from Princess Cruises' Sydney office said: "In addition to keeping the unlimited [non-alcoholic] offerings, we have enhanced the value of the package by adding alcoholic drinks up to AU$16, offering 25 percent off all bottles of wine, and including a one litre bottle of water (still or sparkling) free when you dine at a specialty dining restaurant."

didnt the article show australian prices at like 80 something pp/pd???
  3. yes, their drink package prices and policies were part of the reason i chose princess, and now they changed it.

As far as I know if you have already purchased the package the price will not go up.

Are you aging that you do not think it is fair that you have to pay the higher price at a future date on a cruise that you previously booked and did not already purchased the package?

  4. 68.99 per person per day is CRAZY high, jesus.

Effective September 18, 2017 the AIB Package changed to $59.99 per person per day plus a 15% gratuity. It now includes beverages up to $12 instead of $10, either 20 or 25% off ALL bottles of wine, it was bottles under $100 before, it is now limited to 15 alcoholic drinks per day and DOES include Princess Cay. It's all updated on their web site.
  5. Has anyone else read this? this is what i saw:

"UPDATE: Live...Straight out of Grand Turk:

Carnival is aiming to open up one month after the storm, so mid October. One ship only per day for the first couple months. RO facility has water and power and priority is getting the cruise center power. It my have some today as the island went back to work today officially.

First Caribbean is working out of the old cable and wireless building and the banks did a great job of getting money here and getting the ATM working. Communication is very poor here, the phones are in and out. It's very difficult to make a call and almost impossible to get a call. Text works a bit better, but definitely delays. The people here know less than we do, as the government is not communicating with them effectively. The only reason they know about the hurricane is because of communication with friends and family. The people are doing a great job of cleaning up themselves, but there is a issue of supplies coming in and a sense of being lost because they can only do so much without materials. Local calls are as difficult as international, sometimes even more as one or the other party might be in a bad cell spot. No one really has radios powered, so not sure if there are updates being broadcast there, but the word is not getting around here.

Also, digicel started coming up last night. But went down again. Digicel numbers start with 3, Flow numbers start with 2 for those that don't know abroad.

There are a ton of gorgeous military men around and they are flying and dropping water in at Cee's parking lot. It definitely has made people feel safer and crime seems to be less. Let's see what happens now the curfew is lifted though.

Insurance adjusters have started coming with more today so that process seems to be starting.

Salt Raker and Osprey bars are on hurricane hours but they are open. The island hasn't run out of booze or cigarettes yet. So that helps keep thing calm too!

Osprey is serving food too, as some of the military is staying there. Most of them are staying up by the college, but they rotate down to Osprey to get a real bed and a shower.

    City water is working.

    More updates to follow...."

  6. Hi all!

    new to this site.

Just had to switch from the Carnival Conquest to the Carnival Sensation on 11/25/17. I dont see a group for that yet.

My question is - I noticed the Sensation only has ONE pool where the conquest had 3+ - I have only ever been on 1 cruise, the Emerald Princess - which had i believe 2 big ones and a small adult pool.

Am i worrying needlessly? I liked how the multiple pools spread out the kids in 1 pool, college kids in another, then the quiet pool.

Also, does anyone know if it has a deck where you can walk around the perimeter of the ship?? Im having trouble finding it. It was such a quiet peaceful place to sit when i was on the princess cruise and watch the sun set.

Tell me some great things about the Sensation so i stop worrying!

My group will be four 30 something adults.

    thank you all!
