I have been on 10 Carnival cruises and have never seen this.  I've witnessed a couple denied seating for inappropriate attire.  I will say that some bathing suit cover ups cover more up than some sun dresses I've seen.

She was completely covered but you could see her bathing suit tied around her neck and flip flops. She was also young, maybe 21-22 years old so there is a chance this was her first cruise and didn't know she needed to dress up. IDK I try to give her the benefit of the doubt. Also she should have been told she couldn't come into the dinning room dressed like that and again I will give the staff a pass as maybe they just didn't catch it.

I think that bookbug was referring to this post in RCCL.  I added the emphasis.

I'll also add when I went on my first cruise in 2006 there were many people dress in full on tuxes and prom like dresses at Elegant night. I was way under dressed as I didn't know what to expect when I was packing for my first cruise. I have noticed as the years have gone on that I am seeing less prom like attire and more cocktail attire which I prefer over reliving my horrible prom experiences. I'm a stay at home mom so getting dressed up is a treat for me so I tend to over dress for every dinner in the main dinning room. To each their own.

Well I miss spoke, sorry for the confusion. There was one woman in a bathing suit and cover up that I can remember. BTW my Royal Caribbean cruise everyone was dressed correctly (following dress code) every night. I do stand by the fact that this happened once and I do not run into this "a lot", just once.

  4. Love the use of quotes around "Formal Night." Not sure if you were intentionally sending a message but it made me smile. :D

I use the quotes because "Formal Night" isn't what it used to be in my opinion. I was on a Carnival cruise last summer and we were sitting next to a group of girls wearing their bathing suits with cover ups on for "Formal Night". Hopefully Royal Caribbean won't allow that.

  5. I am traveling with a group of 10 people October 12-15. We have discussed getting a beach bungalow and but we are concerned as it states only 4 people can use it. We could get two but then I am afraid that we will not be able to get them next two one another. Does anyone have past experience with this? Do they police beach bungalows or can we get away with 10 people hanging around them but not all under it at the same time?

  6. Anyone have insight or advice for Princess Cays? The excursions I was looking at have booked up. I've read conflicting information about snorkeling right off the beach. We are packing our own gear since the rental packages are sold out.

  8. I called back and spoke to another woman who was slightly more helpful. She gave me an email address to try. I emailed Eventplanning@carnival.com and they emailed back right away saying that they couldn't help me verify my reservation that I have to wait for the steakhouse to email me. I made my reservations back in January when I booked the cruise. I went ahead and put in another reservation request just in case. I would think 7 months is enough time to hear back from them or get a confirmation sent to me. I will wait to hear from my newest reservation request.

  9. I have made reservations twice now for the steakhouse on Liberty sailing Sept 3rd and haven't heard back from Carnival. I called today and spoke with someone who says you are suppose to pay for the dinner when you make the reservations. I explained to the woman at Carnival that there was no option to do that. She then stated you need to wait until Carnival emails you the link to pay. I am making the reservations for my husband and myself along with another couple we are cruising with. I wasn't planning on paying for their dinner since it's my birthday we are celebrating. Anyone else have any idea how this works? When do we actually pay?
