My husband and 2 kids will be cruising for my 50th birthday. My son is 13 and my daughter is 11 and are we are going to be surprise them when pull up to the ship. I hope we can meet other cruisers before we go. Happy Sailing!

Thank you everyone for your replies. I'm traveling with my husband, my sister and her husband. Our ages range from 48-62. I'm interested in snorkeling, hanging out at a resort, shopping and anything low key. I was thinking I would book a excursion through the cruise just because of being freaked out by the concept of the boat leaving without me but 3 days of excursions will almost cost as much as the cruise itself!

I'm going on my first cruise to the Mexican Riveria on the Miracle for Easter and am trying to decide what are the best excursions. What ports are the best for shopping, snorkeling and resorts? Are there any ports that are better to skip excursions and do on our own? Thanks
