Certainly not a "must-do" on first time visit to Cozumel. It will be disappointing compared to mainland ruins but we enjoyed it all the same combined with a ride round the east side. Small main plaza and then enjoyable walk through the jungle to some outlying ruins, if you are up to the walk. Definitely bring bug spray and water and understand that you are charged the entrance fee in two small amounts. You can hire a guide inside, or do a self-guided walk.
Thanks for the advice! I think we'll probably just stick to snorkeling then.

You can hire a taxi by the hour to provide a tour of the island, or set up a tour in advance through Black Hat or other tour companies based on Coz. The east side of the island is beautiful with some funky bars and worth your time - San Gervasio is IMHO disappointing, but your results may vary.
So, in your opinion, San Gervasio probably isn't worth the trip? I've been going back and forth on this one, because of the cab fare and bugs.

After Disney pulled their characters' date=' Premier did a contract for the Looney Tunes characters--not good at all.[/quote']
My husband would love that. He prefers Looney Toons (and Six Flags) to Disney.

I was Fantastica, and my dad was Bella. Aside from my included drink package, our experiences were the same. We had identical balcony cabins and got first seating. The one time I was finally able to get through to "included" room service, the order was completely wrong. I would personally never sail MSC again, but if I did, I wouldn't book above the most basic level.

This was my first cruise, but I found the kids club to be really well done, and I heard other experienced cruisers saying the same. My kids had a blast and loved the caregivers. I personally wouldn't pick MSC again, but my kids would. ;)
Also, my kids enjoyed all the ports you mentioned. Easy beach days, and my son can't stop talking about the forts in San Juan.

I knew to look in the back, thanks to the advice here! Which turned out to be a good thing, because the MDR and room service were total busts, in my experience. :(

Ours were on our door the first evening.

Oh, my dad was so upset about the closed pool!

Flight information is listed on sxmairport.com. I have heard to go in the afternoon for the larger planes.
Do your kids like Star Wars? We're planning our day around visiting the Yoda Guy Movie Exhibit in Phillipsburg.

No I have not.
Thank you!

Thanks. :) I have always had it on the list of places to visit but have never made it there yet. Thought that if it was good for taking pictures DH and I could go so he could teach me how to use my new camera. :)
Did you ever make it to the zoo? I was thinking about visiting next month...

Hi there.
Bringing this thread up again.
We are also thinking about visiting the zoo.
We would take a taxi to the zoo in the morning and then need a taxi back to phillipsburg to do some shopping and cocktails on the beach.
Does anybody know the cost of the taxi from port to zoo ?
And how about getting back...I think at the zoo they can call a taxi for us that takes us to town ?
Greets from Germany, Nadine
Did you visit the zoo? If so, what did you think?

Francisco? He was our guide last Sunday. Very nice and knowledgeable man. Roatan was definitely the highlight of our trip.
