  1. Laxmom34 - Thanks for the info! Regarding the lights - so you have to use your sail and sign to activate them when you come in, so I'm assuming you use it again when you want them off? That seems strange to me - I wonder why no switches?

Which cabin were you in? Did you have any problem with the a/c? I've been reading that the Sunshine runs warm and I can't sleep in a warm room so I've been stressing just a little.

Did you like the location of your cabin? It's going to seem strange to me to not have a long hallway of rooms like we normally do.

Any other tips you might be able to give us? What about shows? We are waitlisted for early dining so we may end up with late. Would we still be able to catch the shows if we wanted to?

HI We were on the sunshine the week of April 15 in cabin 5335. We only left the ac on the medium setting and it was fine. The high was a little cold for us. You need to leave your sign in sail card in a slot by the door for the lights. You have switches in the room to control the individual lights, but in order for them to work you need a card in the slot by the door. We actually used our room stewards business card. We loved the location of the cabin. It was down the hall from the elevators that take you directly to the lido deck on 9. Just out the door to the buffet. It was also the same elevator for the kids club, which was very nice. We did any time dining and loved it. We requested the same wait staff every night, and only waited 5 minutes one night. We have a 3 year old, so we did not see any shows. Maybe next year.

I wanted to say to, as far as room temp. We brought a small, powerful fan. That eliminated any noise, which there was none, and kept us cooler at night. All in all, we LOVED the sunshine. If you have kids I think you will love the 5th floor, very convenient for all the things kids love.

  2. Who are the best wait teams on the Sunshine now, we are sailing May 6, 2017 ?? Thanks in advance

Hi we sailed on the Sunshine on April 15th. We had your time to dine and requested the same waitress every time. Her name was Tatiana, she and her staff were awesome. She knew what we wanted to drink by the 2nd day. She also by the 3rd day knew that my mom would probably order the mashed potatoes, and offered them to her everyday. She is so sweet, and very good.

  3. Hi it doesn't look like the cabin doors are metal but are the cabin walls? I like to bring magnets to post notes on the walls.

    Thank you

We sailed on the Sunshine the week of April 15 in cabin 5335. The door was not metal, but the walls were. We brought magnetic hooks. They were great for storing wet bathing suits, hats, and other things that could be hung.

  4. Tell her not to worry.

While she's welcome to order from the kids menu, if she sees something that she thinks she'll like, but it has sauce or something else, then tell the waiter and they can adjust it for her to make it more plain. My mom doesn't do spice or sauce or seasoning well, so they will make something for her that is simple and plain.

You can almost always get pasta, grilled chicken, steak or even hamburgers in the MDR. At least have her give it a chance to see if she'd like it.

Thank you :) We always tease her about eating beige. It needs to be beige in color and in flavor. We are traveling with my mom too, who does not eat any spice.

  5. Do they give the kids something similar to what the adults get - where it lists everything going on for the kids in camp? I've found a handful of images through google, and it showed REALLY generic descriptions like "games" or "art fun" and there were no descriptions of what they'd actually be doing. I'm hoping we get more info than that.

Sallee, we're on the same sailing as you, but our daughter is 9. Only 23 more days!!!!

My daughter will be turning 13 on the 15th of April. We are getting so excited. I was mainly looking for what the little kids are doing. I have a 3 year son, who is a spit fire.
