  1. One good news I had the covid tests scheduled and prepaid for the November cruise I cancelled the tests via a chat online received the refund within 24 hours. Wish Hal was that fast. Not traveling again until January 16 not looking forward to trying to find covid test again.   Have until around October  14-15 to pay final and book cancellation insurance.  My pcc only works Monday Friday 7-330.   Here’s to another challenge or is it new adventure.

  2. Received this email regarding cancellation. We are sorry for the disappointment this may cause and appreciate your understanding. All guests will receive a full refund of all monies paid to Holland America Line to the original form of purchase. All non-cruise fare purchases through Holland America Line such as Flight Ease® air, specialty dining, spa and shore excursions will be cancelled and refunded to the original form of payment

I have shore excursions booked and paid.   Would the refund be faster if I  cancel them myself online or wait for HAL to handle it all.  I did call and finally got a remark on my file made that we have a January hawaii cruise booked and would like monies refunded before October Final is due for the new one.

  3. We’re on November 6 sea of Cortez sailing. Guess this is the first sailing for the Zuiderdam and Thinking this requirement could be extended. Booked today our covid test rapid PCr antigen for 2 days before on November 4. In Tigard Oregon. At covid clinic Results within 2 hours  yes had to prepay but just way too much stress to wait.what’s a couple 100 $ when cruises are thousands.  We’ll probably book a back up at Pdx airport later that day just in case.  Remember when the most stressful planning was packing. Good ole days. Hope it’s worth it.   Counting down 60 days tomorrow and it’s my birthday.

I qualify as “high risk” but as my November cruise is paid for, my shore excursions booked, my flight purchased, my hotel reserved, and I am fully vaxxed and planning on getting the booster in early October, I intend to mush on.

We’re all paid in full too still planning on cruising in November. Have until October to make it a go or no go and Two months a lot can change in the “covid “ world.  Hoping to sail again.

I don’t know about the timelines at cvs or Walgreens or rite aid but am going to pay the $170 for the test at carbon health  in Portland 2 days before cruise out of San Diego .   Carbon health also does these tests at San Diego airport .  They are a partner in the safe Hawaii travel program with Alaska air but will test for any trip . I used them in January and result came in 30 minutes , in may they said results will come next day and it did .

Thanks for info. We are also in Portland area  and also on November cruise out of San Diego. Was stressing over testing your comments helped.

Yes that's encouraging that the Ooster is already down under Nov-Dec of 2021, a good chance it will do AUS/NZ Jan-Feb 22. We've got the Ooster Jan 2021 but will have to cancel shortly, borders closed and iffy flights, might hang on if final payment was later. Bummer to cancel b/c we scored one of those aft facing VB's on deck 5 with the huge balconies.

We’re looking at the  Oct Nov Dec 2021 62 day Australia cruise also. Still not sure if this is still too early and possibly wait til 2022.  It’s still so uncertain times. Miss cruising though.

  7. HAL issued our refund for our April 6 2020 cruise to AMEX      posted the credit to my account as of this this morning May 31.  We received the extrasthat we purchased refunded end of March.

That makes it about 81 days ( +/- ) since we cancelled.  Finally it’s been an adventure. Nowstaying home for now. Trying to keep our small business in the wine industry and 11 employees surviving.  The refund will help to keep productiongoing for a while.

I hope others see their refund activity soon.
    see you in 2021.

  10. Cancelled March 11 for our April 6 TA cruise. Received within 10 days credit for shore excursions and prepaid wine on our credit card. We also had HAL platinum insurance cancel for any reason which I understand is not refundable. Have not received credit refund to our American Express card for the cruise air hotel transfers  nor the FCC posted to our mariners account. Every reply I get is 60 days. Is that 60 days from cancellation date or sail date or disembarkation date??
