  1. So you would chose to do this again? My husband and I are booked for a day in December. I’ve been thinking about buying a Nikon underwater camera to have that day but it sounds like that would be of no benefit. What time would you recommend getting off the ship? I can’t think of anything to ask.

If I was going to Costa Maya again - I totally would! I Leave the camera behind - you won't see anything with it but you'll have great food and drinks!

  2. DH and I just booked Freedom after returning last weekend from the Oasis OTS and were having post cruise blues. Taking our kids and parents on this one.

We have a tween and a nine year old - anyone use the kids programs and how were they for each age group (9 and 12).

Is the Flowrider included? We didn't try it on the Oasis but thought it was extra.

What are your favorite must do's or can't misses?

  3. Great thanks. Those are great tips. Did you guys use a locker? If not, what did you do with your stuff?

We did sadly waste 40 min in the locker line (or locker ride as it got called..) because we didn't have anywhere else to put our stuff that was protected. There were only 2 of us, we wanted to ride the rides together and not take turns watching stuff. Have fun!

  4. Just got back from Maya chan and wanted to post a few quick items.. Also answer any questions if I can.

First off - they are very upfront about what to expect (Bumpy roads, sea grass on the beach and cloudier water). Their team could not have worked harder to greet everyone, make everyone feel at home, welcomed and taken care of! Great food - and lots of it, the drinks were flowing and plentiful! Lots of beach toys, paddleboards, kayaks, floaty chairs. The massages were a nice touch - $45 for an hour is super reasonable. I did see a Jellyfish while in the water so beware there but that's not really anything they can control. Snorkeling to the reef we were told wasn't recommended, was hoping to see some sea turtles or fish and that was the only thing we didn't. You didn't feel like you had a crowded area, everything was well managed!

As they said to us - if you're looking for the crystal blue waters, this isn't the place but if you're looking for a relaxing beach break - it was great. Last tip - DO NOT FORGET BUG SPRAY!

  5. We just came back and had booked this same thing. A few tips.. Get off the ship as early as possible to catch the first round of shuttles to Atlantis. By the time you get there and go through the slow walk to the pool - it feels like ions. Do everything you can to avoid needing a locker, the most inefficient process EVER! One person and a massive line of people needing a locker, it was a waste of at least 30 min. The Lazy river is amazing, go from Enterance 1 to Exit 9, have a blast =).

  6. Looking to buy a Movado dress watch for my husband and trying to decide whether to buy it here or wait until we are on our cruise. I've heard Diamonds International has good deals but looking for anyone familiar. We will be in Costa Maya and Cozumel, prefer a location close to port as we have excursions both locations. Suggestions?
