  1. COUNTERPOINT..... I have to add this though as a question. You want to be by the pool during the day as a couple. Do you take the (Everyone else is doing it) approach? Start laying out towels and things to reserve 2 chairs. If not, it could be mid afternoon before finding chairs together.

  2. Like I said before something has to be done besides the chair security team. (Which is usually one person) The only option you have is one person staying behind to watch the chairs. Other than that things will be moved, or disappear. Guaranteed you will see 2 to 3 arguments throughout the day over chairs.

That's not even considering the groups that pretend to be drunk, and crazy. Individually not a problem, but as a group loud and obnoxious.

  3. We've been down this road before. You don't have to "Booze it up" for it to be worthwhile. Not even close. If you drink nothing but frozen drinks (so no soda, no specialty coffee, no milkshakes, no bottled water, no energy drinks or whatever else I'm missing), then it takes 5 a day to break even. How is that "boozing it up"? It's not. That's not even getting a buzz! Add anything else to the mix, then you can come out even more ahead. You can also get your money's worth by substituting alcoholic drinks for other drinks as well. It's not all about being a lush.

Exactly..... Just a couple drinks at normal prices makes it worth while.

  4. We didn't have an issue by the pool on our Liberty cruise. Service came by about every 10 minutes or so. The bar, well that's a different situation. It would take about 25 minutes to get a drink there. If staff needs to be upgraded, it would be there.

  5. Can someone explain to me how someone would pay $1500 pp for a cruise that cost $300 pp. Wow. I love Disney as much as the next guy, but when your prices sky rocket like that.....It's just about the name anymore.

We have always taken Carnival and have loved it.

Am I wrong or is it more about the children's experience on their lines.

  6. The food is what it is for the price. When you pretend to be something your not, there's a problem. It used to be a large experience, but now is no better than the buffet with servers. I ordered the ribeye and it came as a piece of meat, and a potato on a plate. Simple garnish would do wonders too. A simple solution would be to just change the DR's into buffet's with different styles of food. Skip the whole serving experience all together.

  7. There are not ample chairs on the deck, that's why this is an issue. We were on the Liberty earlier this month. The problem is the time frame of people walking away. You don't know how long anyone has been away from their chair. Its to the point that a couple cannot go to the pool together. My wife and I went in shifts to grab some lunch, or walk down to the pool. As far as moving someones things that can get tricky. Towels, flipflops, and things like that are no problem. But backpacks and wallets are another story. Like stated above a couple of different times. Nothing is going to happen until Carnival takes it seriously. Until then, just move stuff immediately after they step away.

  8. I've noticed that they now take your Sail and Sign card when dealing in to a game. I play Roulette at least 1 night for a while. I'm not a big gambler. I usually put down 40 and spend a good 2 hours in there. Which is easy to do, unless you lose every hand.

I have noticed though that the dealer has to sign you out when you leave the table. The table I was at, the dealer forgot to do this for a player, so he got credited for more time than he actually spent at the table. When did they start taking the cards at the tables upon joining?

  9. What are your thoughts on Nassau?

We've traveled here a couple of times, and find it to be one of the worst Ports of Call. You are harassed by the locals as soon as you leave the ship. Traffic around the pier is horrible. About 20 years ago this may have been a nice place to visit, but now is just a place to get drunk or buy cheap souveniers.

We have done the Atlantis and Melia Beach Resort a couple of times.

After our last cruise I told my wife we wont be getting off the ship next time if we go through here again.

  10. Something has to be done about the pool deck situation. Several times I have heard about the "No reservation policy" onboard. But passing by the deck on the way to breakfast, every chair on the deck has a towel or handbag on it.

Carnival has a chair monitor now that travels the deck, but in no way is able to cover the entire area, and doesn't have the means of monitoring the deck chairs for time limits.

Spend a little time on deck and you will see several arguments take place throughout the day over chairs, and or articles left on chairs.

What do you think a solution for this could be?

The only thing that I see feasible is some type of chair reservation before the cruise starts. Other than that, there will continue to be problems.

    Thoughts?
