  1. I don't recommend it. I just got back Friday and a lady launched herself off the the pier into the harbor on one. They now have a free ferry for ncl to St. George's and to get to Hamilton isn't pricey. I wouldn't risk it.

Im sailing on the dawn this coming friday the 12th. I booked inside 8667 and bid for a balcony and won it 10520 I got a notice 16 days out. It sounds corny but I had a dream I won for 500$ so I moved my bid to 250 pp and later that day I got the email. 300pm on april 26. To keep our packages it would have cost me more than double that to upgrade.

It blew me away cause I have never seen it come that early from all the research I have been doing, but I am guessing they wanted to try to sell more inside cabins.

Im excited though especially since the weather looks to be crappy it will be nice having a bigger room for our honey moon.

  3. You could also try calling to see what the Upgrade price is (not upsell). The current price of your inside may be closer in price to the OceanView or Balcony and that would let you choose the room you want. You would need to contact the regular number, not upsell number. It doesn't hurt to ask.

Ive considered this just havent had the time.

  4. We are on the 5/12 sailing of the Dawn. I have had a bid in for ocean view and balcony. I had a dream we won the balcony for 500$ so I bumped my bid to 250 a person. I have read people in my class can be upgraded for as much as 150pp. We will be happy regardless I have always cruised in the cheapest cabin with perks. This is our first time with NCL. I did try to call to upsell and was told once the ship has bidding that is the only option. So we sit and wait 32 days. . .

  5. Jancl57 thanks but you are not the one I was referring to. It is another poster on this thread.

I know the ncl site states 24$ a day and so did the garage when I googled it. I don't like waiting till the last minute and I like to have reservations for everything. I chose to go a different route and don't care for people telling me what they think about my choices.

  6. I'm sorry but taking time out of ones day to map bus routes just so you can feel justified is rude. The 20$ a day is uncovered parking. I was sharing what I have chosen to do. I have free credits on uber and the ride is estimated at 7-8$ regardless as it's only 15 mins away. Even if I don't end up saving I'll be happier in a covered, monitored garage where I don't have to wait on the thousands of people de boarding the ship to exit. If others would prefer to pay the 20$ or the 24$ good for them. Negative comments should be kept to ones self. I've read people badgering each other on their packing choices and choices on excursions. Offering experiences is helpful but not in the way I'm witnessing.

  7. I would definately get a lanyard. I have one that has a clear id slot and a zipper on the back. You just wear every time you leave. After your first cruise you will figure out how hard core you will be.

I will have a lanyard, luggage tags, pop up hamper, hanging shoe rack, magnetic hooks, hanging toiletry bag, refillable bottles.

But for starters, a lanyard, and some grocery bags. Your bathing suit wont be dry and your shoes will be sandy and you can use the grocery bags. Just fold your dirty clothes inside out after you wear them and you can tell what you have worn already. I like the tooth brush holders that stick to the mirror too.

I am determined not to over pack this time. This cruise wont have the fancy dinners so we can check that off the list. You end up wearing your bathing suite and the same cover up every sea day anyways.

I would consider myself a hard core cruiser, my friend is going on her first and asking me for tips, so almost this same situation. I have a list of must haves and one that you can get away without.

  8. We are using the Government Garage Park and Stay program. From 11am the 12th to 11 am the 19th we are paying 108 I think. http://www.governmentcentergarage.com/parking-rates-hours.html

We will make our way to the cruise terminal one way or the other. We are driving from WV where we are dropping our daughter off for the week. We will stop just out of boston the night of the 11th got a steal on a red roof inn room, then we will park the morning of the 12th.
