  1. Thank you for your post. We're cruising on the November 9th sailing for our wedding, so I was super stressed that there wasn't going to be enough for people to do aboard the ship and in Freeport. We're a group of approx. 70 people now, so the fact that they're adding more bars is a big sigh of relief. We're all getting the Cheers package as well. We did the initial ship tour in April (while they were doing renovations to Deck 4), but I scheduled another tour in October to see the "after" changes. I'm especially happy that you enjoyed the shows. My mother and future MIL don't like drinking as much as the rest of the group, so they've decided that they will catch a show or two while we flock to a bar.

Go with them to the shows..they will serve you while you watch :)

  2. This girl is going on her first cruise in 7 days :) I am so excited. It's a girls trip ( 5 of us) ... I am one of those girls that doesn't get to dress up often and I am actually looking forward to the formal evening. I do have a question though...will I be completely out of place if I dress up every night for dinner? I don't mean like in a formal gown or anything just dressy?

  3. I am one of those people that read reviews. :) I had to stop reading because one person would say how horrible this ship is and others were like it's great for the price.

This will be my first cruise (July 20th) so therefore I have no expectations other than I plan on having a GREAT time. We have interior rooms which tbh I am not really concerned about because I don't plan on spending a lot of time in there.

After reading on these boards I have this huge list of things people recommend taking.I don't plan on taking them all..haha..just reading as much as possible since I haven't ever been. If you had to list 5 things you couldn't live without while on the Elation..what would they be?

  4. I thought that is what I did in the message right above yours...but you have to right click on the thumbnail and it opens in another tab....or at least it is working for me...maybe it's only me that can see it..haha...And you are right..that is a process.

  5. After reading A LOT ;p I am worried that what I am taking to wear on Elegant night will be too dressy. It's not a formal gown but it is very dressy. I rarely get to dress up so I was excited about getting dolled up ,but don't want to be out of place. I wanted to upload a pic so you guys could give me your opinion but It keeps failing. :loudcry: I'm sure it's me and not the site. Maybe someone can give me some pointers on uploading an image.

  6. I have not had it happen to me, but sitting beside someone last time at the casino bar who did. He had hit his maximum limit and he was arguing that he should be able to buy more. It was not going well. If you read the fine print, they can stop serving you whenever they feel that you have had too much. He didn't appear drunk to me, but he had hit his limit of 15 alcoholic drinks.

I will be taking my first cruise in July. It's a girls trip :) we are going to purchase the cheers package and maybe I am confused but I was under the impression that the 15 limit included everything ... specialty coffee, bottle water, etc. So it would be possible to get to your 15 limit without being drunk. hmmmm

  7. Well, you probably won't find Almond Joy creamer on board. 😆 It might or might not be allowed, depending on which cruise line you're going on. Read the FAQ's before you decide to smuggle.....

What's the worst thing that will happen? They take it?

  8. So, this may sound really divaish (yeah, my made up word because DH says I am a diva) I tell him he really has no idea what a true diva is like. :)

I MUST have my almond joy creamer for my coffee. Is this something I should bring and are they going to allow me to bring it? Smuggling coffee creamer instead of booze....hahaha.

  9. omg when i started the last post was in 70's read to 50 and its up to nearly 100! Plan to read the rest tomorrow and expect a post saying ' dang go ahead and pack your entire wardrobe because you are worth it!!!' lol

YES!!!! I am waiting on that post too. I like pretty clothes...taking my first cruise is a great reason to buy new pretty clothes. I have no idea how I am going to pack and then take out half. I mean ...I am not flying. If I can fit it into the luggage..why not take it? clear.png?emoji-tearsjoy-1678clear.png?emoji-tearsjoy-1678clear.png?emoji-tearsjoy-1678

  10. If you do bring "flushable" wipes with you, please do not send these down the toilet, place them in the wastebasket in the bathroom. So-called "flushable" wipes, even in municipal sewer systems have been known to cause blockages, they are worse in private septic systems, and will cause untold headaches for the engineers and great annoyance to your fellow passengers when their toilets don't work because your wipes caused a vacuum blockage. The difference between toilet paper and toilet wipes (or baby or facial wipes for that matter) is that toilet paper is made from "pressed" paper fibers, which will dissolve when wet, while wipes are made from "woven" fibers which are designed to stay intact while wet. These woven fiber products, when used in a vacuum toilet system on a cruise ship, will cause blockages resulting in blocks of cabins being without flushing toilets for hours to days while the blockage is cleared.

Do all you want to to pamper your backside, but do not put toilet wipes down the toilet. This is why your suggestion has not been mentioned in 117 pages.

Sounds like another good use for ziplocs :) clear.png?emoji-tearsjoy-1678

  11. A lot of people need the fan or whitenoise to sleep -- not silence. People get used to sleeping with fans or other noise at home -- and want it on the cruise too.

So, it isn't a matter of ear plugs being a solution for them -- because they aren't looking to make it more quiet necessarily.

    Just to note it.

I am one of those people. I am taking my first cruise in July.(VERY EXCITED)!!! I need white noise and I usually just use a white noise app on my cell phone. It works great. I just tried it and it works in airplane mode with no wifi turned on. There's an app for that clear.png?emoji-tongue-1703
