  1. Ship - Magic

    Deck - 11, Panorama

    Stateroom # - 11214

Stateroom Category – 8P Spa Balcony

Starboard or Port Side - Port side

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Only noise was from neighbors tv one night!

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Gorgeous view, you can see everything from so high up!

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - None

Any other comments? - This cabin was a good choice, far forward so there was little foot traffic, yet close to the spa elevator that runs up to serenity.

  2. I got one of those emails today too, and I don't cruise until September 2018. Original room was a deck 8 balcony, I was offered an upsale to a higher deck balcony for $22 total or to a deck 11 spa balcony for $108 total. I jumped on the spa balcony! I was pretty surprised to get one when I don't sail for 10 more months. The lower category balconies must be in super high demand.

  3. Ship - Carnival Liberty

    Deck - 2

    Stateroom # - 2288

    Stateroom Category – 6C Oceanview

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Quiet for the most part. The cabin is partially below the deck 3 exterior deck, so we heard a scraping deckchair once and a guest clomping along in high heels once on elegant night. That's all though, it was pretty decent noise-wise, and I'm a light sleeper.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Any specific problems with this cabin? - No

Any other comments? - All in all, a great cabin for the price. Plenty of storage, easy access to the forward elevator bank. The window is a good size and didn't shine light on your face when in bed with curtains closed lol.

  4. My sister and I haven't cruised in a few years due to family illnesses. We are finally going in October on the Valor. When we booked our cruise, our checkin time was 10:30. Since then we have purchased FTTF, and it says boarding at 12:00. Our tickets say 10:30 - 11:00. So I am hoping that we can board at 10:30, and maybe the 12:00 is just when our rooms might be ready. But I'm really not sure. Checking in early to the ship is one of our favorite times together, especially if we've never sailed on that particular ship before. So we are hoping that we can still go at 10:30. Any one have any experience with this?

I think I may have misread your question in my previous response. If you're talking about the "12-1 excursion time" listed on the FttF shore excursion page, ignore that. They probably just had to put in some random time in the description to get it to show up on the page. It's meaningless. FttF can show up any time up until an hour from sailing.

10:30 is your check in time, not your boarding time. Essentially, when you get to the port at 10:30 you will check in, get your pictures, sign and sail cards, etc. but you won't board immediately. You will be waiting in the terminal for a little bit. Actually boarding the ship won't begin until the ship has been cleared by the authorities. Supposedly that will happen at 12:00, but a lot of the time it's done early. I've seen people say they were called to board as early as 11! Your rooms will be ready right away with FttF.

  6. Hello everyone! I'm sailing on Liberty on her June 11th, 2017 sailing. I booked back in January, and didn't add prepaid gratuities at that time because I wasn't entirely sure how that worked (I'm a new cruiser). After doing my research, I decided that I should add them and did so today online through My Cruise Manager. I paid for it immediately. It is after the final payment date, but the option was still there. I did receive a confirmation email with my updated booking info. I have been checking threads here on CC, and I read a few (from 2013 and prior) that stated they had to actually call Carnival and have them added manually after final payment date. Did I make a mistake that will come back to bite me, or is adding prepaid gratuities online after booking a newer feature and totally a-ok? Thanks!
