  1. :D True. I should also add that we'll be back on the Ruby in March, and this time we've invited the serious boyfriend of our older DD. It'll be his first cruise and these young people (early 20's) are super excited about formal night. Who knows, maybe these things go in cycles and eventually formal nights will see a resurgence. Or maybe not. But for now I think there should be a mutual non-agression pact between the formalists and the casualists.

Thank you for your response :) and oh my what fun you will have in March. How sweet to take your dtr and her bf :)

  2. I also used to avoid the DR years ago dressed like that until the head waiter told me that I was fine dressed just like that.

We've been eating in the DR on formal nights every since & only go to the buffet when there nothing of interest on their DR menu.

Good to know. Thank you :)

  3. Oh no here we go again. It will be the same answers from the same people over and over again and again.

This same question came up three times this week. OK let the fight begin. You can wear a t-shirt in the dining room. No you can't Yes you can, No you can't Yes you can, No you can't Yes you can, No you can't.

Well do you get it by now. No, Yes, No, Yes. Are all of you happy that I finally answered this question.

    (y)(n)(y)(n)(y)(n).

    Tony

Whoah Tony. Your response was very unkind. I am sorry I was unaware of the question being brought up so many times. Maybe you should stop following these comments so often. It might help with keeping your blood pressure in check.

  4. Had an older guy on our last cruise (maybe 80) with long white beard. He really did wear a red suit on formal nights (and everyone commented on how great he looked). On most cruises a suit puts you in the top 30% of dressed up. They often do not allow shorts or torn clothing in the dining room. But even this varies from cruise to cruise. I wear a tux, but that's because it was cheaper to buy than a suit and we like to dress up.

Thank you :) wow, you had Santa at dinner lol

  5. Of course it'll be fine. Princess's dress code is written very loosely and the color of a suit doesn't even enter to it. They just give examples for those that wish to follow them.

    Some do and some don't.

    You'll see.

Thank you so much. I'm feeling at ease now. Grey it will be 👍🏼

  6. Hello fellow cruisers. We're setting sail on Ruby Princess out of Seattle on Aug 19th I was told that formal attire for men was a dark suit or tuxedo. My husband's suit is grey. Do you think that would be acceptable? Thank you in advance.

  7. Hello, I'm cruising Princess Ruby out of Seattle Washington for an Inside Passage with Glacier Bay, Alaskan Cruise leaving August 19th. This whole internet access stuff is so confusing to me. I have AT&T. Can anyone enlighten me on how this works? I see I can purchase an Internet Access plan through Princess. Do I still need to change my plan with AT&T? I'll be using my cell phone to take photos and hoped to text and send some to my daughter while we were on our cruise. Also hoped to keep in touch by text or calling the other people in our party. Thank you in advance for your help.
