First thing it has been confirmed that the ship is not going to Amsterdam so should be in Southampton on time and boarding at 10am is a real possibility.

Before Easter they were running 3.5k -4.5k and generally no problem they only tend to go 6k plus when the kids can cruise.

 

Having done a few now even when packed in the school hols we managed by adapting a bit.

 

The ship tends to start to close down 12:00-2:00 and that's where the Attic(aft 23:00) and casino are the late night early morning drinking spots, not done the Attic and the casino is smoking so avoid.

 

Inside day time even sea days there are spots that are quiet, the pub opens at 10am/11am  other bars stagger eg some at 6am champagne not till 4pm 

 

Depending on weather the outside Atmosphere(pool) bar has loads of seating as does Horizon(at the back)  evenings from 5pm both of those tend to be available as it has been cold.

 

The core time for shows and dinner 17:30-10pm that's when there tends to be more space around the ship as people get ready, eat and show.

 

As said the Galleria  and Virtuosa lounge are the main event places and get packed but that's where the fun is big party has been 10:30.

 

 

We get into a routine around our late dinner(7:30/7:45) the last 2 times, before dinner plenty of spots, after dinner pretty busy, do the late show after dinner  and then people are thinning out a bit by 10:30.

Our late spot even when in YC has been Masters you sometimes have to stand for a few mins but people are moving on all the time.

 

Daytime anywhere that feels ok, I like outside but it has been very cold

 

18:30 Virtuosa where the party band have  a 30min pre show set, then we go change  

 

Sky lounge the Adult only can be mixed, when loads of kids the families tend to stay away so quieter.

Evening they have been having a Jazz style entertainer and it has been very pleasant to hang out pre dinner after changing,  I think it gets a lot busier later, then dinner show bar. 

 

 

Buffet there are a few tricks, it gets busy, sometimes crazy.

 

We used to go right to the back as most find food and a seat close,   at the back there is outside seating alsways sace when chilly.

 

There are side options in the buffet  that can work as people don't double back after going in.

 

Last cruise we changed to the tables right next to bar they seem to stay empty longer and you have no problems getting drinks as every waiter goes past you, its a few steps to order at the bar, good people watch space.

 

Go all the way round the food stations  as there are some items that are only in one or two places you get a feel for where the stuff you like is, this one we are thinking of trying the MDR for breakfast and lunch as reports are its ok(usually not our eating time).

 

 

The indoor pool can get busy, walked through a few times last cruise and there were  seats available a lot of the time(2 levels). 

 

Look out for the theatre shows afternoon sea days, if still on Eclipse are still on they do a Beatles set in Carousel lounge one night.

gold match also got 4300 points 

• hi I did our status match to Gold status, I have asked about the $50 obc credit for our cruise in September but every time I say this to MSC they say you have obc which I have but his was a perk when we booked last year nothing to do with gold status I am getting no were emailed and called then numerous times any advise.

doing this cruise in September here is our literacy grand cayman,curacao,bonaire,aruba,key west

any ideas what excursions we can do this is only our second cruise so all information helpful

Welcome aboard, since it is the first cruise good time to learn the lingo. it is a ship in that a boat is something that can sit ON a ship. The front 1/3 of the ship is FORWARD the back 1/3 is AFT and in between 1/3 is MIDSHIPS. your Left when you are facing Forward is PORT your Right facing forward is STARBOARD. One more thing the pointy bit Forward is the Bow and the flat bit all the way AFT is called the STERN, cabins facing backward so you see where you have been are Stern, not aft cabins.

 

As to boarding question, you can arrive around 11 or so but must be on board no later than 90 min. before sail away. That by the way only applies to embarcation day not to when you must be back on board in ports which is 30 min. prior to sailing.

 

If you board early you may not be able to go to your cabin right away normally the cabins are available by about 1 to 1:30. you can however go to the buffet or as I prefer, ONE of the main dining rooms will be open for lunch,IF IT IS AFTER 12:30 though you may be told otherwise.

Hi everyone .... can one person in the room upgrade to premium drink pkg???:)

I have just upgraded from classic to premium phoned celebrity up and they did it for me just paid the difference

Tried accessing my reservation with Classic Beverage Package included when I booked, to see how much it would be to upgrade to Premium with discount today, but couldn't do so.

 

Does anyone know if we can get/book a discount from Classic to premium?

I updated my classic package to premium package yesterday I just called celebrity and just had to pay the difference so well worth the extra

does that mean all my drinks now are covered under this package I am not a big drinker but do like the cocktails and martini's :cool:

Smoking areas on Equinox are:

 

• Deck 5: Port Side, mid-ship on the hump to the left as you exit the interior right around the first lifeboat
  
• Deck 12: Port Side, as you enter the Pool area from the mid-ship elevator lobby
  
• Deck 14: Starboard Side at the Mast Bar

just booked the equinox for Caribbean cruise September do they definitely not have irons

i literally dont know where to start booked hotel in Miami night before what time do we need to be at ship on the day

also how much around would we need for tips usually take about $300 when going to Caribbean when we have flown
