  1. I was given a one hour window of opportunity to cancel my June 25th Alaska cruise out of Seattle or pay in full before close of business Friday....which was a lot of money to find as I'm a solo cruiser so double whammy!

I have heard on Facebook forums that others have had the deadline for their final payment on the same cruise extended to end of April ( Australia) or end May ( USA). I will receive some of my deposit back but O retains $400 for FCC. If I'd decided to pay in full in that one hour I ' may' have received the entire amount back when O cancels.

Shouldn't they have cancelled already?  As of March 13th, cruise ships can't go into Canada and there are also limitations until July 1.

  2. I've just booked on a Baltic cruise on Marina beginning June 24th this year. I tried to access my booking and got a message it had been cancelled - cue 12 hours of panic until my travel agent opened! He tells me I'll receive a new booking number later today and that "You have been given a free upgrade from A4 lead in balcony to an A1 midship balcony".

So I'm a cautious person and  wonder if an upgrade is an ACTUAL upgrade or a convenient relocation for the cruise line's  benefit. Can someone tell me the difference please?

I am a solo cruiser and basically cruise for the destination and not so much the ship experience, although I'm not keen on being stuck under the pool or disco or near elevators. I don't have a room number as yet.

    Any advice appreciated,

    Chris

  3. Thank you :-)

I don't think my role call is available any longer as we are currently cruising - and I'm not going to the airport until the following day. I could find nothing for August, when we left.

    Some suggestions:

    a. Post on your Rollcall to see if anyone has free space on a airport transfer.

    b. See if can arrange a private / uber transfer

    c. Check the Barcelona Ports of Call foum forcontacts / ideas.

  4. Of course, you are right. How on earth do I edit a post?

And apparently there will be strike action on the 11th due to the National day demonstrations

What day do you disembark? Why will there not be taxis available at the port? Also, you should remove your cabin number, since you are still onboard. Best be safe.
  5. Can anyone currently on Eclipse help me please? I thought I had a tour organised to get me out of Barcelona for disembarkation Day but have just received an email stating that there haven't been enough takers for it to go ahead. I've asked at the Destination Desk and they only have a short city tour, which I've done before, followed by a ride to a taxi stand. I understand that there may not be taxi's working in the city that day although Celebrity say they are unaware of this. As an older woman alone I'm a little nervous about carting bags ( heavy after 6 weeks of travel) around Barcelona among the festivities/demonstrations!

Any ideas please email to chrismurray230 at gmail as I can't access the email that notifications go to, or for anyone on board, I'm in 3121

  6. I used SPB for the 2 day St Petersburg deluxetour in July - they were amazing. When other groups missed venues due to amarathon taking place, our guide Tatiana shuffled the itinerary so that westill got to see everything. There were 16 on our tour - perhaps it was these people who made it such a great experience as we met for drinks a few times during the cruise and swapped emails and pictures since. I thought the website made my paymentoptions quite clear, and researching forums suggested pre-payment was the betteroption. I also used SPB for Estonia, Helsinki and Rostock and very happy withthe discounted price and the calibre of the guides. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

We were in SPB for one day only. When we all boarded & were off to start the tour, we were told we would be skipping some of the items on our agenda due to a festival taking place in town.

We were never informed beforehand of the change & had to vehemently argue in favor of visiting the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, the main reason we booked our tour.

The guide had to call the main office & were able to arrange a tour of the church as our second stop in order to accomodate. Why did we have to argue for this? Why wasn't it arranged this way from the get go?

Additionally, at our first stop she kept rushing us stating "If you want to see the church, you must hurry" We were not a big group & her demeanor wasn't very pleasant.

Also, our only stop for shopping was a very crowded shop that is used by all tour companies. During this stop, we paid for our tour & due to some technical difficulties on their end, ate up most of our shopping time. I had no idea we could pay ahead of time, I would have gladly done so.

Those are some of the main issues .... I would book through another company if I were to return.
