The OP is in the Netherlands as the message banner shows. You must not "share" your travel agent on Cruise Critic, it is against the rules and your post will be deleted.
Sorry and I don't see a banner

Thanks all for your valuable advice!! So many excellent reasons for using a TA. It's just that I never used one for my personal trips (I only did for business travel) and we only recently started going on cruises, so I just couldn't see why I would start now. Always booked my own flights and hotel rooms for,our regular travels.
But I can see the point now if you cruise regularly, only thing now is to find a good one.....
Thanks again!!
I have a great one are you in the US

Thread pretty much sums up the main problem with our species: many/most people are not able to handle the concept that other people think and feel differently than they do, and that it's ok.
You are correct and that' s why there are all kinds of ships with all kinds of travelers. What works for us, is not what works for others.

Wow, definitely not for us. We can do without floating shopping malls and the Vegas strip at sea.
We enjoy the smaller ships where we actually know we're on a ship at sea.
I so agree, mega aren't for us at all

We did all these places both from the windstar and the moorings, it's heartbreaking

Thank you so much for your kind words! So refreshing to hear, rather than some others that are only concerned about their lost cruise vacations ....when we have so much more at stake than that.
Indeed we are all holding our breath as to the eventual outcome of this monster coming at our home state.
Important thing is the safety of lives....homes, belongings can be replaced. Really hard to see our hard won
homes damaged or destroyed...but we can rebuild where necessary. It will just take time and work.
Be safe everyone!
Your islands are so lovely and the people always so gracious. May good tidings come your way and recovery of your homes and lives come soon. The photos we see are so very heartbreaking

Tortola is gone, the moorings boats are all gone, what little of the island that's left can't support tourists, the cruise line will change the itinerary. It's so sad, the loss.

4:00 Happy Hour Crow's Nest and Ocean Bar
6:00 Martini Sampling Gallery Bar
10:00 Happy Hour Gallery Bar
They also did a couple of Scotch tastings, wine tastings and a Pub Crawl but I don't recall places and times for those.
Also, the Tatoosh Rye is really pretty good if you're a rye fan. It's a small distillery though so, while it's sold in the Crow's Nest, it's not available for purchase in the shop.
Can't wait thanks for the schedule my husband would love the martini sampling

Viator is a great option for most destinations go to their web site and type in the city. Or do directly to the destination city site. We rarely do cruise excursions unless it's a long ride to it, then book thru the ship in case of transportation failure the ship won't leave you. And this will happen if you book yourself.

Please do, will be anxiously awaiting your report as we sail Oosterdam in October. OP's report and photos are definitely discouraging, and not what we would expect from HAL. :(
We are on oosterdam out of san Diego the end of Sept this is an older ship they renovated the public areas and most reviews are very favorable. Any ship if you look hard enough you will see that it's a product on being on the sea.

You can bring wine onboard and pay corkage at dinner or drink it in your cabin. We have done the Hawaii cruise out of san Diego with friends and brought a case each no problem other than it's heavy to lift on to the security table.

Terrible reviews on Facebook
in Windstar Cruises
Posted
We have sailed on Windstar since 1983, and never had a bad time - always an amazing cruise. We have leaving for an ocean crossing in 24 days and I can't wait to board the Windsurf. Bad reviews are due mainly to passengers not knowing they were boarding a small yacht, with over 60% repeat cruisers who want the small yacht with amazing service and food, not a mega yacht and thousands of their new best friends. Everyone we have included in our voyages are now repeat cruisers, and Windstar is their first choice.
