  1. We are thinking of doing a walking tour of Nassau. What are the must dos, must sees? I think we will do the Queen's Staircase, and try to get a small sample of chocolate at Graycliffe chocolatiers (not take the full tour). What else would you recommend with a 10 yr old and 12 yr old? Also, is the Bahamian Cookin' restaurant walking distance from the ship terminal? I can't seem to find where it is located. We are open to suggestions for good places to try local cuisine. We are spending a lot in St. Maarten for our excursion, so we are trying to find a balance in Nassau.

  2. I found the rum distillery. It is John Watling's Distillery. http://www.johnwatlings.com/. The website had a map you can see the distance. I saw a couple of comments where people walked it and some say they took a cab. I saw one person said the walk was further than they thought and recommended a cab. The website said it is walking distance from the cruise ships. It is small and something quick to do. Another option for low key and inexpensive.

Can you buy rum from the distillery and bring it back on the ship? And do you know if the distillery allows kids to take the tour?

  3. We are thinking we want to do a jet ski tour when we are in port at St. Maarten. I found SXMdeals.com and StMaartenJetSkitours.com. Does anyone have any experience with these companies? Are there other companies that have a great adventure tour? I have a 12 yr old and 10 yr old, so they will be riding on the back.(We will have 2 jet skis/wave runners as both my husband and I will be driving) We have done Disney cruises before and always booked our excursions through the ship. We are looking to branch out this time and do it on our own. How easy is transportation? Should I try to find one in Philipsburg, or can I get the elsewhere with transportation? Also I've seen posts that ship time is different than local time, can anyone clarify for me? Our ship is supposed to be in St. Maarten from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. What time should we aim to be back from our excursion? Sorry for all the questions, but this is our first time doing our own excursions, so I am a little nervous about it.
