  1. I have FCC from a cancelled cruise. I rebooked on a TP Tokyo to Seattle for April 2022 using the credits. Currently Japan is closed to travel. The final payment date for the cruise has been changed to February so I am thinking if it is cancelled it won’t be until February. Currently my FCC need to be booked by 12/2021. What do you think will happen if the cruise is cancelled? Will I still be able to use these FCC or will I lose them? I will call NCL before 12/31 but didn’t know if anyone had some feedback.

    Thanks

    Patti

  2. We returned from a trip to Switzerland last week. We flew into Zurich and traveled via train. Prior to leaving Florida we applied for and obtained the Swiss covid certificate app. This was required to eat in restaurants and go in any museums etc. You need to show you certificate on your phone and  they scan it. You need to download the app first and then apply. We waited a few days before approval. I understand that now the process includes a fee of approx $30 USD but otherwise the same. It expires 1 year post 2nd vaccine.
I would recommend the app VeriFLY for any international flights, it made airport check in and travel so much easier. We didn’t do it for flights over and the return with it was very stress free.
Last, Switzerland requires an entry form that you complete online. We also printed a copy out. There is a fine of 100 USD if you don’t comply with this.

Book the OS on the Sun. It will be your own personal Haven with the jacuzzi on the balcony. Even though it is a smaller, older ship, that has been my favorite room so far!

Thanks Florida Cruiser glad to hear that!

There is middle ground on the Jewel class ships, Gem included.  There are 10 2 Bedroom Family Suites (S4) on Deck 11.  They are considerably less expensive than the same suite in the paltry Haven. You get butler and concierge along with the option of breakfast and lunch in whatever specialty restaurant they send the Haven customers to.   Just make sure it is under the library and not the fitness center.

That’s good to know as I wasn’t aware of the middle ground ships. I always look a deck above and below prior to picking my cabin for that reason! I think I want the whole Haven experience though and will wait until one comes along that seems priced right.

For me, it's a no brainer.   If I can get two cruises in a balcony cabin for what one cruise in a Haven cabin would cost, I know exactly what I'm picking.  Personally, I would find a butler intrusive and the perks, for ME, are not worth all the extra money.

Thanks, we haven’t cruised a Haven cabin so it’s hard to say but I think I’d like the private areas. We aren’t high maintenance but the butler may be nice. Priority boarding and disembarking esp at the stops would also be a pleasant perk. But you are correct, it’s hard to pull the trigger on the cost esp if it’s not a true Haven ship.

That is a tough one.  Personal preference.  I love the Haven but here is what I did.  My choice completely.  I was on the Pearl some time ago.  I was in a Haven 2-Bedroom Family Villa.  The Pearl did not have a Haven Restaurant or Bar.  It did have a Haven Courtyard of course.  Previous to this trip, I was in a Haven Spa Suite on a larger full Haven sailing.

When that sailing was complete, I cancelled the Pearl and rebooked the Encore.  I wanted the full Haven Experience.  Again, the Pearl is a lovely ship.  Your question had to do with cost/value.  That is my opinion.

Thanks for your feedback. We were supposed to do a TA on the Epic , our first Haven cruise, but it was cancelled this week. We do have a Haven on the Bliss scheduled for 2023. My issue is we have the Sun Tokyo to Seattle and the Star Iceland and Greenland booked in balconies for 2022.  They are both cruises we really want to take and I can change them to Suites for 2-2.5x cost but not sure if the cost will be worth the perks. Your reply makes me think I should save the money. Decisions……

  7. I understand this is a personal preference question but hoping for some feedback. On ships that do not have a “ true” haven set up is it worth paying double to upgrade from a balcony. We haven’t cruised Haven yet so no experience to go by. Would it be worth the increase of cost to upgrade from a balcony to a suite on our  Sun and Star cruises.

Just our personal opinion - and I'm sure many people will disagree - but we don't think any of the white villages near Cadiz are near as interesting as Cadiz itself.

    Hi,

We are taking a transatlantic in April/ May and have 13 hours in Cádiz. We would appreciate some suggestions. Don’t mind DIY and walking but don’t want to rent a car. First time in the area and are not set on anything  particular . TY
