I would make your reservations for MTD. Make your reservations now. Even though there were 6300 passengers on board, we never had to wait in any restaurant for more than 5 minutes.

Problem is the only times left for MTD are too early or too late for us. We will take our chances. If we have to wait, so be it. We will just, as you said, "chill and enjoy ourselves"! ;)

We were told not to do MTD because something about the tips having to be done in advance (to be honest I am not sure what this means or why it's a big deal)

This just means that you pay your gratuities at the same time that you pay for the cruise instead of having it added to your seapass account each day on the ship and paying for it at the end of the cruise. Personally, I like pre-paying the gratuities. I know some people don't for various reasons which have been discussed a lot ;) on these boards.

and also was told that the wait times can be excruciating when doing MTD due to the size of the ship.

We haven't been on the Oasis yet but I haven't heard anything about long waits. We are doing MTD on our upcoming Oasis cruise and do not have reservations for any nights. Our last RCI cruise we had almost no waits for a table for two in MTD. We usually went around 7 or 7:30.

One word of advice - AVOID Brother Jimmys BBQ - we tried it in November last year and it was NOT good!! Worst ribs we have ever had by far!!!

Thanks for the tip! I got the date I wanted for $106.76 (plus tax)!! Much better than the $199 on the Hyatt website. Almost $100 USD cheaper after taxes! :D

is there any reason why people are waiting for 4 to 5 days to get the confirmation whereas they can go to lastminutetravel website and book it for $105. it's only 5 dollars difference but piece of mind and comes with free cancellation.

How do you get this rate and know you are getting the Hyatt Place? What dates are you looking at also?

Finally heard back today and we got it! It's for this weekend, which was listed as a black-out date. The email went into my Junk Mail so I'm glad I was watching for it there. I've called and confirmed with Hyatt.

That is too crazy that you got a reservation for a listed black-out date when I was turned down because the date I wanted was supposedly blacked-out but yet not listed as such!! Oh well, glad it worked out for someone anyway!! :cool:

I had started another thread about Valuetrips which has been deleted. That is was I was talking about re connection.

I got my confirmation from Valuetrips today. So happy as it is only $121. ( total) for a room with 2 double beds and a pull out sofa. There will be 4 of us , my husband and I plus my 21 yr old daughter and 17 yr old step daughter. So it will be perfect. I got the Hyatt place in Fort Lauderdale in August. I called the Hyatt directly to confirm just to be safe!

Still haven't received a reply back to my question as to why my date in May is supposedly blacked out.

I just tried them earlier this week and they replied back within a day but they told me the date I wanted was blacked out even though their website does not list the date! I sent a reply back over two days ago questioning this but no reply.
