The drawers are on the left side of the closet only halfway up so you have plenty of room to hang shirts in the closet on that side. The nightstand is on the right side of the closet so it does not interfere with the drawers. My cruise director is my wife. I have no idea who the ships cruise director is. Haven't heard them talk yet.

We are on the Sun now and the DV has 4 drawers on the left side of the closet. Not very deep, but good enough for a few pairs of pants/shorts as well as a few shirts.
