  1. Introduce herself to the Social Hostess, she organises singles events. Although the solo coffee tends to attract the oldest of the old, there may be someone with similar interests there. Study the progam and attend all the activities that interest her.

The disco (G32) a maybe, a bit hit-or-miss, stress-free implies not a lot of late nights.

Be warned, the "Handbag Ladies" who inhabit Barracuda Alley in the Queens Room, are well-known for animosity towards anyone young and attractive. Don't expect to be popular with everyone.

Thank you, this is a great bit of advice. I am so looking forward to meeting some wonderful people on the cruise. I am even looking forward to meeting these lovely ladies who inhabit Barracuda Alley, maybe they will join my mother and I on the dance floor! We are not too intimidating, just nice girls from Alaska.

  2. I wish I were going to be on your sailing!

Do you like old movies set on ships? I just watched one you might enjoy: "Romance on the High Seas", from 1948. The fashions were so glamorous and so flattering.

Are you able to post any pictures, when you return? I'm sure we would love to see them.

    Have a wonderful trip!

Thank you! I will have to watch that one before I leave and maybe get some fashion tips! I am happy to post some photos when I return.

  3. Thank you so much for the kind, quick, and informative responses. My trip is the transatlantic crossing on 8/31 which is scheduled as fashion week. I am in my early 30's and am taking full advantage of this trip to channel my inner Audrey Hepburn in my style of dress. From the responses it sounds as though I will be well dressed but not necessarily overdressed. I can tell already that I am going to have a wonderful time! Thank you again.

  4. Hello! This will be my first time on the QM2 and I have a question about daytime attire. What would be considered overdressed? In my everyday life I typically wear dresses and skirts on a daily basis, would dressing this way make me look out of place? Is the typical day wear mostly jeans, shorts, and t-shirts as it is on other cruise lines? I am quite excited that there is an evening dress code enforced and have many ballgowns and cocktail dresses picked out for those occasions. But any afdionral information would be very helpful! Thank you!
