was the 'agent' the person who picked up the call on the 1-800 number ? - If so, call back, get a different agent, if the same answer, ask to speak to a CSR ( customer service rep )

    can't hurt ...

is the actual 'cruise fare' the same as when you booked ?

This was chat. I am a novice and don't understand how to figure out what you are asking about the fare. I had chatted with this person before, "Aubrey," when I paid for a change from obstructed balcony to regular.

The complexity of this stuff sometimes is a little daunting, but not as bad as Disney World has become! LOL

Are you cruising alone?  Perhaps they were quoting you the full additional cost which is $40/pp/day - with normal pricing.  Both people in the cabin have to get the PLUS.

Aha! I think you may be right! I AM traveling alone.

Sorry for the lack of updates on my end, trying to post here has been impossible until now.

Check-in could have gone smoother, but they finally resolved our credit card issue. I stopped at guest services to ask for any available upgrades, and we went from being in an inside cabin to a mid-ship mini suite. YAY!!!!

There are just under 1800 pax on board.

Here I am celebrating being on board after nearly 2 years.

Last night we ate at the Crown Grill, which was just ok. We’ll give them another chance later in the week.

The crew has been wonderful, and even with masks on, you can tell they are smiling.

Our meet & greet is at 10am, and I’m hosting a slot pull at 3pm. We tried our luck in the casino  last night, and didn’t do so well, however one woman hit a jackpot for slightly over $12k. She was much calmer than one would expect.

Late to this thread but I’ve been looking to see how things are going recently with Princess before my Dec. sailing. And your profile photo caught my eye. And now these! Great stuff, some of my favorite people!

In the past you could order in advance but I do not believe that is possible now.  Way back one they had a large supply on board.  These days less men wear tuxes on formal nights.  I have gone to wearing slacks, long sleeve button down shirt and sports coat no tie

I was wondering. I have a favorite white linen suit that I think I'm going to bring. The jacket and trousers can be worn separately on other days. I like to pack as light as possible and a tux for one night is not something is care to pack this time in the Caribbean on Dec. 4.

  5. Hi folks. I'm doing the Regal Princess cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Amber Cove and Princess Cay, leaving Fort Lauderdale on December 4.

I'm traveling solo this time, for a number of reasons, but I'm really looking forward to some ahhhh time. 🙂

I live in NYC, and will be flying down to Ft. Lauderdale that morning.

  6. Hello! I don't think it would be close enough, but I don't know for sure.

The captain announced each evening what we could expect to sail by over the next 24 hours. The falls were not mentioned. Also, just from hanging out on the deck and looking out at the landscape while sailing the St. Lawrence, at times we were a bit far from land. You could see it, but only the outline. Other times we were closer and could see houses, cars, etc., but it seems like more often it was just seeing the outline of trees, hills, etc.

If you do see them from the boat be sure to get a photo!

    :p

Oh, I don't think we have a good enough camera at whatever the distance to the falls from the boat. But if we could see them through binoculars, that would be nice.

  7. Hey there! My husband and I will be sailing on the Maasdam July 15-23, Boston to Montreal.

I'm sure we'll have a great time no matter who we get to know, gay or straight. But let's check in and see if there is an LGBT meet-up, shall we? We're not big party people, more like quiet explorers who like to get to know people as individuals. And we DO intend to explore the ports, largely on our own. But we are doing the shore nature walk excursion in Bar Harbor.

  8. Our Holland America cruise earlier this year had a few couples and a few singles show up for the LGBT gathering. Our problem with it was the time interfered with our second seating dinner. We had to leave almost immediately. Nevertheless, it was nice to meet some people. We ended up hanging out with some of them at other times.

Princess seems to have better attendance at its LGBT meetings--at least the cruises we have been on.

Good to know! We're traveling on HAL Boston/Montreal in July, our first cruise, and was wondering about whether we'd be "trapped" without like-minded folks.
