  1. I know this is a long shot, but worth the chance :)

I befriended a group of guys on the Carnival Victory on March 12th.

The last day of our cruise, we had made plans to meet up later than evening, and due to my kids not feeling well, I never made it out to meet them.

I really had wanted to exchange numbers and keep in touch.

I'm looking for Brent, Scott and Quincy (and their one friend I don't know his name) from Kansas City.

They were on the cruise as a bachelor party. I don't know any of their last names, and I have exhausted all Facebook searches. This is a last resort in case they are here, OR someone happens to know them (long shot).

    Thanks :)

    Amy

  2. Normally I would do extensive research to help me decide... but I need to book ASAP because both these itineraries leave in 4 weeks!!

Victory: Keywest and Cozumel (mon - thurs)

    OR

Sensation: Jamaica and Grand Cayman (mon - sat)

Myself (39) my two boys (11 and 10) and my mom (63). First time cruise for the 3 of them, but I haven't cruised since 2005.

Ship: fun stuff for the kids to do. Aside from kids clubs, shows and activites, sports....

Port: Just want to enjoy a beach. We likely won't do any excursions.

Which would you choose? (and yes I'm currently doing some side research, just looking for extra feedback :) ) Thanks gang!! :)

  3. Hey Gang,

Last time I was in St. Thomas was 2005, this time I'm taking my 2 boys and my mom.

We are in port from 1130am - 7pm. There are 5 other ships in port that day, most from 8am-6pm.

What is the best way to do the following (book private or wing it once there)?

We are going March 2018 if that matters (March Break)

I want to do an island tour to show some areas to my family, and I want to spend some time on Meghans Bay.

I know a tax to and from the beach will cost the 4 of us $40 each way! That's already $80, and then add an couple hours for a tour. Any idea what hiring someone for the day might be like cost wise?

I'm thinking touring first, and then beach time so when we are done we can just go back to our ship.

I believe I also read there is a fee to get into Meghans Bay? There are rentals there, but no restrooms or food? correct?

    Thanks everyone :)

  4. I know it's far away, but I'm a definite planner!

We have booked a private tour of Puerto Rico on March 14th 2018 Our comfy AC van has room for 4 more people to join us (group of 4, or two 2's). I have booked a 4 hour tour with Carlos and/or his son Carlitos. They have a very reputable website and high reviews. We were not interested in a walking tour of Old San Juan, and we figure after our tour we can view the forts at our leisure.

Our party consists of me (mom - 38), my mom (grandma), and my 2 boys (10 and 11). We are polite Canadians who love chatting and meeting new people.

Cost is very reasonable: $300 for 4 hours, divided equally between all in the van. so that means for 8 people it's only $37.50 a person!! WOW!

There is a fridge on the van with bottled water, refreshments, snacks and a "few more goodies" on board.

    :)

  5. We have an interior room booked for our upcoming March trip. I'm a little nervous about it being dark. And I do have 2 boys. My youngest won't be so happy with 4 twin beds. when he's nervous he wants to cuddle with me. This part I'm going to dread. I hope he can handle sleeping in the upper bunk.

What about some type of night light for the bathroom? I think I need to find something that doesn't plug in that I can leave in the bathroom so it's not quite so dark. And LOVE the idea of the tv on and volume down. great idea!!

  6. Can anyone point me in the direction of photos of all of these places? I like having a visual so once we are there I can say "ah ha" this looks like the right place ! :)

  7. It's called a spring float. You twist them and the wind up in a circle and come's with a carrying bag with a strap to carry on your shoulder and lays flat in the bag. Easy for packing in the bottom of a suitcase too.

oooh it's you! I was scrolling through posts and clicked on a review of grand turk and read the whole island report and I just realized it was you! Your posts with the donkey made me laugh so hard. and you've inspired me to do some research of Goveners Beach too. We are only there for 6 hours so I'm trying to figure out how we will spend the day!

  8. Researching Grand Turk for the first time.

I love whoever posted the pictures for reference. If we walked down the pier is the pool (Margaritville) to the right or left? I'm off to hunt for information about golf cart rentals :)

    Thanks!
