  1. I did not get a survey and will not be cruising until December on X. I'm glad to see folks mentioning the high prices in The Retreat. We are Zenith on X, thanks to many cruises and suites, but have recently tried MSC suites - Yacht Club - which is the same or better than X in most cases for much more reasonable fares. I think X's head swelled when it created The Retreat with Edge Class and it started commanding wild prices. But then again, if people are paying the prices - then our loss and X's gain!

  2. Hi,

We are currently on Jewel arriving in SJ on Nov. 19th. RCI is giving free transfer to airport on that day.

But wondering how taxi situation is at cruise terminal (Pan American Pier). Will taxis be available? Are traffic lights working now? Are taxis charging regular fare or overcharging?

    Any info would be appreciated.

    Mucho thanks,

    NJ

We left SJ/Celebrity Summit last Saturday. We were the first group off the ship after the self-service walk-off group. There were plenty of taxis at the pier and the cost is $21 (I think) plus $1 per bag to the airport. There is no price gauging and the drivers are very nice! Our taxi ride was fast and uneventful.

JetBlue terminal was busy but not out of control. BEWARE -> You MUST get your bags screened by the USDA BEFORE checking your bags, so find the huge USDA scanner that is working and put your luggage through that right when you get off the taxi! You will see signs as you enter the terminal. (The one closest to JetBlue was out of order, but there is another one right down the hall!)

    Safe travels!

  3. We are leaving on the Adventure of the Seas from San Juan tomorrow...We have been in contact with NUMEROUS cruisers who have landed today...been picked up by Royal Caribbean at the airport and taken to our ship...ALL WITH NOT ONE PROBLEM OR HITCH. Both myself and me wife are about to board on a redeye flight to San Juan in a few hours and expect everything to go also without any of the problems everyone keeps writing that they are SOO WORRIED about....In fact some of our fellow cruisers are telling us that they are currently onboard, drink in hand, about to have a great dinner in the main dining room.

Glad to hear all is well and hope it is great for you too. You seem to be mocking people that have justifiable concerns - not cool!

  4. So, how can I tell if I'm a part of the sail away party...the cabin crawl (*and what actually is that and what does it entail....yeah, I don't get out much...LOL!*)...and whatever else that's planned? :D

I'm kinda taking this cruise "on purpose" to celebrate my "5-0" ( ) on Sept. 9 when we're in San Diego. :)

    Hi Ron,

Let me know if you have any questions. Happy "advance" Birthday! Such a coincidence >> I celebrated my 50th in San Diego pre-cruise a few years ago!

    Best,

    Peter

  5. Hi Guys!

Peter and Wayne here from Boston. We are regular Celebrity cruisers and love the Millennium Class ships. We are looking forward to meeting all of you.

We did the Panama Canal a few years ago on Celebrity and it was beyond fabulous. Actually, one of the ladies on the other roll call (Kathy) was someone we met onboard. Sorry to hear that a few of you had a bad time on Regatta! We've never been on Oceania.

  6. Hi Gang,

My partner and I just returned from a week on the Century. Per the usual, Celebrity WOWed us in every department! Cabin stewards and butler were all very friendly and had no issue with us sharing a bed. We couldn't have received better treatment in the dining room as our request for a table for two was accommodated and we were given priority when we requested a change. There were two FOD meetings that were scheduled, I'm assuming by Celebrity. The cruise director was Alan King (?) -- nice guy!

Go Celebrity -- you won't be disappointed! We don't even consider other lines! We are booked on Connie for New Year's and on two back-to-back Century cruises next April. :)

  7. We are about to take our third cruise on Celebrity in a month (Century, 4/2) and are booked on Connie for the holidays. To us, there is nothing like a Celebrity cruise. We have gone with family and alone and were treated wonderfully by crew and passengers alike. Don't think twice about this line...you won't be disappointed!

    Bon voyage!
