  1. Thanks for the review, we're doing the same trip in 26 days, even staying in pretty much the same cabin on the other side of the ship.

i was a little worried about noise from the bump out on deck 5 - did you notice anything? we have a 7 year old girl, so we're hoping she likes the kids club - couldn't get her out of the one we put her in on princess so fingers crossed she'll enjoy it.

Did you check the pool area at the amber cove cruise port - any waterslides? when you mention pool wasn't sure if you meant at the port or on the ship? although it didn't look like your weather was great.

  2. thanks for all the info, i'm glad :)

i called sea gardens and they're good to go so have cancelled the backup reservations - yay. i think they had a great cruise - started in vancouver 20 days ago. i was keeping tabs on the beach with a webcam and it was quite active with people

oceanv - Pompano Beach (and Broward and Miami-Dade counties) dodged a bullet. There should be no problem with your parent's hotel. While it is dark out now and I can't see the ocean, this afternoon was no worse than other stormy days and there were still kite surfers and swimmers in the water until 4 pm . The rain was intermittent and never lasted longer than 15 minutes or so. Winds are below 40 mph with a few gusts in the 40s recorded around 8 pm. I hope they had a good cruise and enjoy their stay in Pompano Beach!
  3. I'll let you know if I hear anything from my parents, i'm hoping they'll break their "i won't pay that for wifi" silence if they have news from or about the ship plans.

i think if anything their cruise would land on time, i'm more worried about their hotel on the water not taking them. I'll call the hotel Thursday to see what their situation is.

    thanks for all the info

  4. Hi,

Sorry to mention the hurricane in this thread but I'm a bit inexperienced with Hurricane impact and my parents are on the coral supposed to arrive on Oct 9 into Fort Lauderdale.

Since hurricanes are unpredictable i'm not sure when to get concerned about the situation. I'm fairly certain I'll be the one trying to rearrange hotels and flights once they get off the ship if its not where or when they thought they were debarking - they have hotel and flights right now out of fort lauderdale.

As far as I can tell they are saying they "think" the hurricane will be in the area of Miami to Daytona later in the week. What would the cruise lines normally do if they can't dock in their intended location? I've looked on the princess site but they don't have a weather tab like carnival so i don't see an easy way to find out what princess is saying about their ships.

    Thanks For reading.

  5. we had that set-up on a princess cruise. two twin beds - with the bunk on one , other bunk folded to the wall (because there only three of us - dd was 5)

i don't see how you'd maneuver if the king was in the middle of them, although the ladder openings were at the end of the bunks so in theory it would work.

i hope the interiors (we had not done an interior for many cruises before this) are bigger on carnival than princess because there were three of us and it was cramped - especially when dh got quarantined on day 2 for 48 hours - needless to say never booking an interior again - quarantine in an interior cabin is a special type of torture.

I'll see if we can dig up a pic of the room

  6. we've done late traditional, we've done early traditional, and ytd, personally i think it's easier on the brain to have traditional, we also have a child though so it's just easier to roll into the dining room without waiting - we'd be eating around six anyway.

apparently you can ask for a small table by emailing maitrd before cruise so that make it easier better. i'm not a fan of making small talk with strangers.

  7. We didn't miss it but we had to RUN in St. Lucia. The traffic was terrible getting back to port and we were on a private excursion who misjudged the traffic - we were all well aware of the time for boarding by.

There was a couple run / walking behind us so were not last but it was a terrible feeling.

  8. well i'm probably doing the ship swap whether we like it or not.

we were booked on victory - picked a balcony and then they did the ship swap - it's a christmas cruise...... however they did GIVE us a balcony on the fascination so i guess that's a win win.

we have done the southern caribbean on the victory many years ago - we pick for intinerary and price and victory (when we booked her) had the lowest price on a balcony over christmas so i will be very interested to see what the balconies on the fascination for that cruise will be eventually sold for (if they aren't already sold out for now).

as long as there's a waterslide

    a kids club

    and no noise from above

    we'll be okay i think :)

  9. Anyone stayed in any of those? Aft Extended Balcony - How much noise from above? it looks like there's a walkway and a dining room above it?

Help, trying to decide the fate of this cruise since they did the switcheroo on us from Victory to Fascination and have picked the cabin for us.

    Thanks in advance.

I did find a member that seemed to be asking the same question 3 years ago (and then sailed and probably has the answers i want :)) I wanted to message but then I wasn't sure if we could message privately?

  10. I discovered a few hours ago my victory cruise dec2016 has changed to fascination .... i called to query my cabin assignment since it says to be assigned.... and they are working on it.

Since i had a balcony I would expect a balcony or am i crazy?

I'm not happy about this but i'll see what cabin they give me. apparently we get 150 obc (since there's three of us) and if we can't agree on the cabin then i can cancel (even though early saver)

upside is there's a waterworks on this ship (we have a 6 year old so waterslide big hit)

  11. Does anybody know for sure.............

Is the Terrace Pool Aloha AFT adult only or not?

Princess site does not mention adult only, however when googling it some other sites, pics etc.... say it is?

Since we're thinking about being very close to it with our 5 year old it would be somewhat torturous for her and us if it was adult only so I'm hoping the princess site should know what it's talking about.
