We're in Moorea. Thought it was O but then the ship turned a wee bit and now we see it's Ponant's Paul Gauguin.
Oh well....better than the mega Brillance of the Sea that was here yesterday....ugh!
When we flew BOB-PPT on Monday there were NO taxis at the airport. Had to wait awhile and almost missed the 10am ferry to Moorea. Lucky us...we ended up with a magical taxi driver that had our bags carried on the ferry and our tickets purchased toute suite.
Papeete looked crowded with tourists....Royal Priness and Brillance of the Sea were in at the same time.

a lot of this stuff is directed through your TA. My old TA retired and switched to a new one who we've done only 1 cruise (Dec/Jan) with.
Lots of travel, the big issue is to find a house sitter each time (with our mix of dog. cats, birds, mules, donkeys and horses)...

It is about cost period..
They split the book into two. One is general and the other was cruise specific. The General one had the usual dining, procedures and other general info, that can be printed on mass well in advance - presume split to save money. Other contained the cruise specific info as well as shore excursions.
They had both books centrally printed by a New Jersey firm and mailed directly to save $$.
My opinion it is about people creating the book more than the distribution costs. With shortage of workers that is the real cost. It takes alot of work to assemble the cruise specific, voyage specific and passenger specific data (cabin location, booked shore excursions, dining reservations etc.). Even sister "luxury" cruise line Regent does not do this.
Brooke -- you know we have not received an O brochure in two years. Since we have done one Regent cruise recently (and have 3 more booked), we are bombarded with Regent mail -- maybe 2 per week. No rhyme or reason...
Well how in the heck did your mail delivery person escape the heavy burden of mail from O to you??
Ps/Very envious of your cruise schedule!

What's a Ffp2 mask? Are you sure about having to take an organized tour in Italy?

What about the repatriation of your remains if you die while on the cruise or land trip? Very pricey.
