  1. The no sail order can be lifted before the 100 days. Perhaps Royal hasnt cancelled yet because they are working with the CDC to get back to sailing as soon as they can. If they can work out an acceptable plan and put it into action in June then they could sail in July.

Bottom line is no one can say for certain what is going to happen or when we will definitely sail again. Anyone giving any sort of definitive answer at this point is just guessing.

  2. 28 minutes ago, Milwaukee Eight said:

The 20/25% off and buy one get one 50% sales are almost always off existing onboard prices which are typically much higher.

My last RCI cruise which was admittedly 2 years ago, I noticed that they charge a transaction/processing fee which pretty much negated the 20% they offered pre cruise so it wasnt really a deal because that fee doesnt show up when you just buy on board for regular price.

  3. Plot Twist: Instead of refunding our Credit Cards we get on board credit.

I got the 18 dollar deal and thought it was too good to be true but heck if I wasnt going to purchase it based on that.

We always get the package and RC always comes out ahead on it. Really the only people that will lose out if this doesnt get cancelled are the RC employees. Cause 18% of 18 a day is a hell of a lot lower.

  4.      We always get the beverage package on our cruises and probably never drink as much as we would technically need to to get our money put of it. I've never really kept track though.

I should probably be more frugal but I look at it as, I'm on vacation and trying new things (and new drinks) is kind of part of that experience so it's nice to just kick back and enjoy myself. It's not something that comes around very often. If I just buy ala carte style I'll just end up drinking the same beer I drink at home. 😁

  5. I asked Carnival if there would be a Game of Thrones watch party cause we will be on Breeze and miss episode 5...they said they have no plans at this time.

So I thought, fine we'll just get the internet package and stream, but the fine print says they block streaming services.

So guess I'll just have something to at least look forward to going home to...😐

  6. My wife and I did this excursion last year and enjoyed it for the most part.

The dolphin swim was fun, and there was more at the park than we expected. You should definitely bring towels, however they didn't have lockers. We carried our stuff with us until the actual dolphin swim then we just left it in the "staging area". I felt it was pretty safe there.

My one complaint is how disorganized the picture buying process was. We spent a good hour just waiting for our pictures which left us rushed and unable to enjoy other things.

Dunns River was also a blast, again no lockers, but we left our stuff on the bus this time, perfectly safe. It was pretty crowded but an overall great time. The guides were great, and the other people In our group were too.

It was a long drive and our guide did a great job keeping us entertained. There was never a time when I didn't feel safe, you never go into any shadier areas of Jamaica. Even with the long drive and double excursions we still got back to the post with plenty time to browse the port shops.

    :D

  7. Last year we did the dolphin swim at Dolphin Cove and DRF, which we felt kind of rushed. It was a good experience at both just very rushed.

This year my wife and son did the jungle tubing adventure, while my daughter and I did the volunteer excursion.

From what they said the jungle tubing was nothing like advertised and the volunteer thing was .... quite an e,experience.

  8. We just got back from a 7 day Oasis cruise and my daughter and I did this "excursion"

I would NOT recommend this for children. The book said tree planting but we apparently showed up on chicken slaughtering day. The entire group was pretty taken aback. There was about 13 people in our group so a decent turn out.

We the went downtown to the soup kitchen where we did get to briefly feed the homeless before being whisked away to a shopping center.

I think the excursion was more about awareness than actually helping.

Not sure if the 50 bucks actually goes to the mission or not but I kind of doubt it. The guide we had last year said Royal takes about 75% of the costs, but she could of just been pushing for tips.

If you want to do more research the place is called "Open Heart Charitable Mission" maybe send them 50 bucks directly and spend the day pool side.
