This needs to be a Sticky!!! What's the deal?
Sounds like we're banging our head against the wall.
The recent vote tabulation was 105 For and 4 Against making it a sticky.
I would like to hear from someone who voted against making it a sticky. Am I missing something? I can't think of a reason to vote against making it a sticky. Please educate me. I promise - no flaming.
If "Friends of Bill W." can make it as a sticky, why not this site? While I'm not undermining the importance of that site, the number of hits on that site compared to Renmar's is not even close. It could drive a man to drink.

That's fantastic. We really enjoyed this cabin last May. Very convenient location. No advise as to what to do over the next two months since you have your activities planned. I know, it's painful waiting.:)
Lol. Many thanks for the info you have given me about the room and the bed configuation in relation to the window. That give me great peace of mind.
I'm my own worst enemy - wanting to know what I'm going to do, when I'm going to do it and how I will accomplish it!:)

No there should not be a major problem getting a limo and there should be little, if any, in the way of a line for them. Just step outside the terminal and you will see limos. A six passenger limo should run you $63 plus 12% tax and a tip.
Many thanks, Putterdude. You provide a very valuable service on this board.

From this thread and others, I have gained much valuable information about our Cruisetour with the Sapphire Princess in June. I still have some questions about how to get from the cruise port in Vancouver to YVR. Too bad the port website didn't have a terminal map, so I could visualize our arrival there.
I understand we leave the ship, clear customs, collect our luggage and find our transportation to the airport. The transportation issue is still not clear.
Our small group of six seniors will take a limo to the airport. I further understand that it is cheaper not to make a reservation but to get one at the curb. My questions are:
- With two large ships in port, will we have any problem getting a limo?
- Will there be a long line up to get the limo?
- Where exactly do we go to get the limo?
- Do you have any idea of the cost?
Any assistance would be sincerely appreciated.

The beds were under the window . We were set up as twin beds of course and there was a night stand between us. They are not against the long walls that connect cabins.
After much consternation, my TA finally got my bed configeration changed from a queen to two single beds. Now we won't have to stand on the bed to look out the window.
And.................we're all paid up, excursions booked, and even have our daily activities planned. Now................what am I supposed to do for the next two months?:)

Clearly for AeroCar permits you to reserve a specific size of vehicle for an extra fee. I would check back with another person at AeroCar and make your concerns known. The are a reliable carrier, they have the limo contract for YVR and I have never read or heard of a problem with them. However if you do not get the assurances that you want then here are links to a couple of other operators that have a good track record.

Thanks for all the excellent info you've provided. Be assured that it is sincerely appreciated by the less well-informed like I.
I understand from this thread and others:
- it's cheaper not to pre-reserve with AeroCar
- When I arrive at Canada Place, I will ask the dispatcher at the terminal for a limo, tell him how many passengers and which cruise ship we're from.
- The limo will then be dispatched and will meet our group of 6 at or near the curbside door
- He will then take us to the airport (about a 40 minute drive)
- We will pay the limo driver the going rate + 12% tax + tip
Would you kindly verify that the above information is correct?
Thanks,
Doug.

I think what interests many people as well is the different balconies, covered VS uncovered which are the bigger ones etc.....
I not quite sure what this post is all about. This thread is clearly about obstructed oceanview cabins ( a site I have made use of many, many times). Understand that this OP has developed a very useful thread on a singular topic. To take on an additional task of covered vs. uncovered balconies would likely require another retiree with an interest in that area.

I consider this thread invaluable for many, many cruisers. Too bad it isn't a "sticky".

My niece and I sailed in this exact cabin on the Sapphire. It's a great cabin with absolutely no obstruction at all to your view. Very conveniently located as well.
Hi,
Since you and your niece sailed in E416, perhaps you could clear up any difference of opinion. Where is the bed(s) located in relation to the window?
-
The window is straight ahead; facing you as you enter the door. First come the bed and then closest to the window is the desk on one side and the frig/tv on the opposite side.
AAAAh! Now I understand. Many, many thanks for answering my query. You have been very helpful!:)

You will have little to no obstruction and your bed will be against the wall.
................. and I take it that the window will be to one side of the bed?

I have carefully chosen E416 on the Sapphire Princess for an Alaskan Cruise in June. I've searched, but cannot find, cabin pictures showing where the bed is located in relation to the window.
If the queen bed is under the window, I'll have the bed separated inro two singles to enable an outside viewing area without kneeling on the bed. If the window is not over the bed, I'll have no problem.
Does anyone know where the window is located in this cabin?

Your welcome, I hope it did help.
As for making it a sticky I think that is a bit of a "sticky" issue. Although I have not received any reply to my emails about this my guess is that they like to see first how it goes without making it a sticky. Receiving a courtesy email with a short explanation of the policy would be nice though.

Please accept my thanks for all your hard work! We've booked E416 and 410 on the Sapphire Princess for June based on the pictures on your site. You are doing a superb service for many, many cruisers.

Theo,
Many thanks again for your wonderful site. I just booked a 2013 cruise saving megabucks by taking an obstucted view oceanview cabin that has literally no obstuction.
Doug.
