  1. If you look closely in photos 5 &6 through the Harbour Bridge you can just make out Pacific Explorer on it's way to follow. I was watching the Sydney webcam that day and noted both ships arrived about 10 minutes apart and departed the same 10 minutes apart. Cheers, Buzz.
We passed Pacific Explorer (the old Dawn Princess, of course) on the 23rd as she was heading north. We were heading to Sydney from Brisbane, on board sister ship Sea Princess. Not passed another cruise ship at sea before. Very cool sight.

  2. When visiting Australia I've never had a problem when I declare prescription meds. As above, they confirm with me that the declaration is for personal prescription medication and then happily wave me through. I've never been given the third degree or had any indication that I was wrong to declare the meds. I always have a doctor's letter, just in case, but have never been asked to produce it.

  3. Don't know about Shutterfly, but it appears PB has shut down all the easy migration tools. I signed up for Smugmug, and found out the API for their Smugglr tool has been disabled by PB. I've also been unable to download albums directly through PB. Pretty sure I can download one photo at a time, but I have 11 years worth of photos...

The PB tools not working are possibly an intended side effect of disabling 3rd party access unless you have an appropriate account level.

Have you tried this to download an entire album to your PC?

  4. I think the only way would be to download all photos/albums from Photobucket to your computer, and use any Shutterfly upload tools to upload them all to Shutterfly. Same would apply if you wanted to move to Flickr or SmugMug etc. Photobucket probably don't want to make it easy for you to leave them, even though it's their own doing!

  5. I was thinking (after reading your previous post) that I could just make an 'L' bracket, which would bolt to the tripod mount of the HX90V and to a Capture compatible ARCA plate. At least as a temporary measure to see if I will actually use the feature. Having just received yet another Peak Design bag (13" EDM) this morning, I'm not sure I should be ordering another Peak Design item (or any other camera gear) just yet or I'll likely upset the balance of the universe (or at least the balance within the household)!

  6. If you don't twist the safety lock on the Quick Release button, it only needs to be pushed in to release the camera. When clipped in, the camera is quite secure. With the safety lock on, I can't see any way it could slip out.

However! I do actually use a tether with my Capture Clip Pro. Just in case I have a clumsy moment. Murphy's Law, etc. I've inverted the back plate of the Capture Pro, which exposes two tether points. I made the tether strap with paracord.

  7. How well does the POV kit work with the HX90V? I have the same camera and didn't even think of using it that way. I guess the Capture should certainly be stable enough for the lightweight Sony.

As you can purchase the Anchor Links as a separate kit, you could perhaps fashion a couple of slightly longer cuffs that better suit? I've used the Anchor Links to make a couple of tether straps which I use with the Capture clips in case I clumsily miss-judge relocating the camera onto the Capture clip and drop it!

  8. I'm using micro four thirds gear. I do like the look of the Black Rapid gear, but I haven't purchased or used any to date. I have a few Op/Tech straps etc and quite like what I've purchased, alsthough I have't used it for a while. I now use Peak Design gear, and have quite a few of their products. Whilst I love buying new gear, I can't see me changing any time soon as thier products seem to work well for me (nothing to do with the threats of divorce, honestly!)
