  1. If you are a new user to Lyft, download that app- they had a promo code for $5 off each ride for your first 3 rides. Code was HITTHEROAD and you have to enter it in the payments section of the Lyft app. Not sure how long it is active for, but if you have a trip soon it may still work. Was super easy. Waited about 5 min to get a Lyft from hotel near FLL to Port of Miami- was around $23 or so after $5 off, super easy. Traveled a week ago using it.

  2. $3.95 one time for 100 minutes for the entire cruise. That wouldn't last but a couple days for my wife. How much is it per minute after the 100, or do you then just have to pay for a regular wifi package?

Yes, once your 100 minutes is out it is out- they do it by stateroom so I don't believe you can get 100 and then wife get 100. It's 100 minutes for one device, one-time $3.95.

Don't quote me on the pricing, but I'm fairly certain it was $.99/min or you could get packages, 30 minutes was $20 i believe (good for all internet, not just social media) and they had a package for 250 minutes, but don't recall the pricing.

Unfortunately, we spent too much time learning about this. My wife had her cell phone stolen off an excursion bus through NCL in Cozumel while we were at a quick stop so we had to contact people at home to get the phone shut off and new one re-ordered. Calling US from the ship was 4.99/min so we decided doing via Facebook messages was a better idea.

  3. Yes, it was on Escape last week. It was 100 free minutes of Social Media only. So, Facebook/Twitter/Insta etc. Keep in mind, when you are on Facebook and you wanted to open a story or a link or something from someone sharing a post, it would not allow you to do that. I did however use Facebook messenger successfully. Not as fast as you might expect on land, but does the job at sea. There is a one-time $3.95 set up charged to the stateroom for use.

The log in page for the wi-fi has a really nice ticker so you know exactly to the second how much time you have left. Was a nice little feature for the $3.95 as opposed to the packages or $.99/min.

  4. For whatever its worth, when we boarded the Escape on 10\7, terminal B, there was a security agent or whatever their title is...he asked for our passports and embarkation documents. He matched up everything and then sent us in the terminal to do check in.

  5. Was on the same cruise, albeit not the Haven. We had Balcony room and I second a lot of what you wrote. Cabin noise- really it was only kids running in the halls. Had one couple next to us that had a FIERY argument at 1am the first night.

I'm going to be THAT guy, but I was surprised that some of parents were non-existent throughout a lot of the cruise. Unless they're in a program like Splash Academy, I would have never thought (in todays world) you'd see very young kids running around the ship alone with 4,000 strangers. There were kids running up and down the hallways at 6:30am. Whatever, but when you had to hit O'Sheehans at 2AM just to get service (exaggerating, a little;p) you want to sleep a little longer than 6:30am. Kids running the ice cream machines in the buffet until they were out. One morning, saw a kid load up two plate fulls of bacon and take off. I think a lot of parents think you are on a cruise and you have a staff of 1700 to babysit. Couple kids were trying to hit the mini-golf balls over the railing... I know kids will be kids, but we saw a lot of 6-10 yr olds running around the ship by themselves and that usually means they're up to no-good....

The SMOKE- terrible. Embarkation day, right away, they load you on Deck 7 right off O'Sheehans and it hits you. I'm pretty tolerable of these things, and love casino's, but it smelt like a dungy Motel 6 smoking room. Was like that the entire time, stale smoke smell in that entire 678 Ocean Place. Beautiful for sure, but smoky, too. So, if you're sensitive to that smell, going to have issues until you get used to it. It doesn't go away, so you'll have to get used to it.

A lot of people on that ship. Theater is wonderful and the shows were great, even the comics were quite good, too. Just every common area is packed 24/7 it seemed. Atrium game shows and entertainment was built for 200 to view, problem is the ship has 4,000+. I guess they count on the other 3800 eating or at a diff show or doing something else. Cruise director Andre and the rec/entertainment staff were very cool, too.

As you mentioned, service was good, but it was so sloowwwwww. Best to have your entire order ready the first time because it could be 10 minutes or more until you see the wait staff again. A lot of the bars seemed to have one bartender (Tobacco Road at 10pm with 100 people in there) and some should have had far more (two in O'Sheehan's during atrium entertainment) which seemed to be common theme throughout the cruise in every establishment.

Same as you the_dylaness, I'd go again for sure, just now have some different expectations than what i did going into this cruise. Guess I ended up doing mini-review myself, but I agree with you on most all of your points!!

  6. I am on Escape for Oct 7th sailing- I went on today and tried to book the free shows for the date/times preferred and they loaded into the cart, but errored (is that a word?) out when I went to check-out. However, I added the shows, and then clicked on the grayed out "make payment" button, and it said Thank you for your purchase (even though it was 0.00) and I got an email confirmation from NCL saying it was saved and reserved.

I believe there was another post recently that stated you could just call them and it was some sort of IT issue and the phone reps would book for you.
