1. Well that's disappointing (about St Lucia). I had the exact opposite experience--we had ZERO hassle from aggressive vendors. St Lucia is my absolute favorite port, so hearing that the vendors have gotten super-aggressive is disappointing. I'm so glad that you ladies didn't let that color your day. As usual, the pics are fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about your experiences! You are really making me consider cruising Carnival again (on one of the newer ships). :D

  2. It was starting to storm again when we got to the dining room, which explained why it wasn’t too crowded – between Halloween and the rocky seas, it seemed most people either opted for alternative dining arrangements or a much later dining time.

Dinner was excellent. The petite filet was bigger than I remember it being in recent cruises and turkey tom night is always Stephanie’s favorite. To finish it off, there was a ridiculous dessert that made my jaw drop.

Nicole, your pics (especially the food pics) are phenomenal. I want to eat EVERYTHING pictured RightThisVerySecond. LOL!

  3. Hi there! I just wanted to say that I'm so happy to have stumbled upon your review. I used to read your trip reports on your blog a few years back, and then life got super-busy and I hadn't checked to see if you posted anything new. Boy, am I glad that I was poking around CC and found this review. Now...I'm off to get caught up on everything, and live vicariously through you! :D

  4. My non-cruising friends are so tired of me talking about cruising that I had to come here to share my good news.

I just scored the Ben and Jerry's Sweet on the Liberty of the Seas out of Galveston for December 2015. :)

For those not familiar with it, here is a YouTube Video of one.

You get two fee coupons, per day, for any ice cream you want and access to the Concierge Lounge. Although, hopefully by the time this cruise comes along I just "might" be at the Diamond Plus level. Then having access to the C.L. won't be an added perk for us in the Ben and Jerry Sweet.

Oh good for you! I was considering it for a 2016 (I know, I know) cruise, but I'll be traveling with a 3yo, so I'm not sure if it'll work for us. Have a great cruise!

  5. We're taking him with us on the Quantum next April. The 12-nighter. Can't wait! Mom is coming as well. I think my Aunt and Wesley's Mother are coming too. We wanted to do a longer cruise, but the itineraries for the Bahamas aren't that attractive to us. We miss the Southern Caribbean so we can't wait :)

Hmmm, I wonder if Sebastian and I can fit in your luggage... :D That's gonna be an awesome experience for Isaac! It sounds like a fantastic experience for the entire family. I can't WAIT to read your review!!

Sebastian will be approaching 21mos old when we cruise the Liberty. I've got to stalk the reviews of people who traveled with almost-two-year-olds to see what I can learn.

  6.
Congratulations on your little one, iriegirl!!! How exciting :D

I'm glad the review is helpful as you plan cruising with your little guy. It's certainly a different type of vacation. It was nice not having to cook or clean (well, except for cleaning up after Isaac, lol). We could relax and completely focus on our boy. I think he could sense that mommy was much more relaxed. It's worth it to us, wouldn't trade the memories for anything. Happy cruising!!
So, um...yeah. Today I booked the Liberty for April 06, 2015. It'll be a bunch of firsts for my Sebastian. This trip will be part girls trip (w/babies) and part bridal shower for my cousin, who'll be bringing her little one as well. I'M SO EXCITED. Chrystal, I may be reaching out to pick your brain from time to time. ;-)
  7. OMGoodness, I'm so glad to have stumbled upon another fabulous review by you, Chrystal. Congratulations on your beautiful blessing. He's absolutely adorable. I'm glad that I found the review--I've also had a baby since your last review and had been thinking I wouldn't cruise until he was much older. This shows me that it's completely doable with a little one! I'm totally taking pages from your book, and making note of all of the helpful hints. It looks like you guys had a PERFECT vacation. Thanks for taking the time to share your tips. ;)
  8. LOL! That's so funny! She's going to love the suit. :D I was thinking of getting that suit in another color as well. There's a suit at Nordstrom that I'm eyeing too. It's a LOT more pricey than what I'm used to getting, but I might treat myself. We'll see. It's too cute. Here's a link.

I will absolutely write a review for the Allure. I can't wait. Already taking notes on things I don't want to miss. Just booked our hillside cabana this morning so looking forward to that. Sigh, September can't get here fast enough!

Wowwww, that suit IS cute! It's more than I'd normally spend on a swimsuit too, but ooooh weee, it's cute.

If I were booked for a fabulous cruise on the Allure, I'd be doing a serious countdown, so I can imagine your anticipation. I was supposed to be doing a Thanksgiving cruise on the Liberty this year with friends and family, but things didn't work out. I've booked a quickie on the Monarch to tide me over until next year, when hopefully I'll get to sail on something larger.

  9. I got the bathing suit from JCPenney, here's a link to the suit. I love it! Can't wait to wear it again. I took the straps off since I didn't want a tan line. It stayed in place perfectly the whole time.

Glad the review is creating some enthusiasm! The Freedom class is awesome, you all are sure to have a great time. :D

Yay! Thanks for the link. I shared it with my friend this morning before work got crazy. I just checked with her and she has ALREADY ordered it. LOL.

I know that you're probably planning to do one anyway, but please please do a review of your cruise in September. It will be a fantastic escape for those of us stuck at home.
