  1. We recently returned from our Seaview cruise as well. Aurea experience after cabin 12260 and our friends 9001 also Aurea.

MDR I found to be crowded at times feeling. We usually doned around 8:30 that seemed to be popular. Food and sercser was adequate. Wine selection was TERRIBLE. For the price of wine in Europe you would think there would be decent wine included since there are so many liquors available to choose from and mixed drinks. I think I drank Prosecco every night at dinner because the wines were pretty much undrinkable. That was one of my only complaints.

The other complaint was the lack of night life. Like some good music to dance to, not salsa, not "Olay Olay Olay put your hands in the air" ad nauseum but actual club dance music or even retro 1980's for us "old" 40-somethings.

The sports bar was basically empty most nights and the Seaview lounge as well. Midnight and the ship felt empty unless you were a smoker and then the casino or the outdoor area at the aft of deck 7 were options. We found those areas too smoky and so avoided.

Otherwise great boat and fun during the day. Aurea Top 19 was great...quiet and nice bar/outdoor lounge for relaxing with a late afternoon drink before heading back to our cabin to watch us pull out of ports.

Our friends in 9001 had more space but a terrible view so we didn't really go to their cabin other than to see it.

  2. I've only been in the aft cabins on Seaview (cabin 12260), so it might not be the same on Seaside, but I found music from a bar or club sooooooo very annoying. There seemed to be a rave party starting around midnight every night and they kept going to around 3.30 in the morning. I don´t know where it came from (maybe the bar on deck 7?) or why they were open so late, but it was definitely a PAAAARTEY going on every night. The lack of sleep is my only complaint about the aft cabin; apart from that, I loved everything about the cabin.

We stayed in the exact same cabin and never heard a peep. In fact, our biggest complaint was where did all the people go at night? For about 30-45 minutes from 11:30pm there was dancing (the same music ugh) on the top deck but the lounges and bars were mostly empty. It's like everyone in Europe goes to bed by 10:30.

Did you sleep with your balcony door wide open? Because that's honestly the only way you could have heard anything being in that cabin.

  3. Just stayed in one on Seaview 12th floor

Best cabin - lots of space and great views especially for entering and leaving ports.

Yes lots of vibrations and noise from the thrusters but friends who stayed near the front reported the same so maybe it's a ship-wide phenomenon?

Lots of movement side to side while sailing - liken to being on a train not just the regular up/down ocean motion.

  4. Stayed in one on Seaview.

Space was excellent and shower huge (we got 6 people in there to see how many we could fit lol)

The only drawback was the movement felt. While sailing at night, there was a constant back and forth movement along with the regular motion of the ocean. I likened it to the feeling of being on a train as well as on a boat.

Can't beat the view, couldn't beat the convenience to the elevators, the deck 8 buffet, deck 7 bar, and deck 16 access for the pool and activities. Also never heard any noise from hallway or other rooms.

  5. The phrase "peeping Tom" implies intent and someone camping out with purpose and trying to hide. Sounds like a spraying window cleaning machine in motion does not fit that description.

I too think that the men likely couldn't see into the room and instead likely paused as they saw the husband scrambling and thought to pause in case he was trying to remove items from the balcony.

What's up with the sudden desire to sue? Isn't this the second threatened lawsuit this week?!

  6. Thanks for posting. As a primarily wine drinker though, I am disappointed in the lack of selection for the classic drink package. Do they offer decent wines in the dining room with that package? Do the wines change according to the menu?

  7. Thanks Dave. We want to keep the aft suite and it's not the one we have a problem with as it's just 4 booked into it...it was 9001. I thought I recalled hearing someone had done 5 in 9001 but haven't seen photos. I just hope that MSC allows it since it was their error

  8. We are 2 families traveling together in August on Seaview. Booked on the phone directly with MSC in July 2017 our room is an aft suite for 4 of us and our friends are 9001 which at the time was advertised as a 2 bedroom grand Suite.

Now we all know only a few are true 2 bedroom suites but we were hoping 9001, would sleep 5. I haven't heard from anyone in that room yet to confirm so my friend called MSC Monday and was told that room is only 4 person.

Also told no other 5 person rooms left.

What recourse do we have? MSC booked the room knowing there would be 5 people and we have booked flights etc around this cruise.

    Thoughts?

  9. It has not been fixed as of March 3 our rooms smelled so bad had to sleep with the balcony doors open the whole trip so sleeping was rough temps 90s this was hands down the worst cruise I have ever been on. They did offer me 25% refund I told them not good enough considering they knew about the smell from the first sailing and have yet to fix the problem and they just keep sailing on like nothing is wrong. My wife and daughter actually slept out on the balcony a couple nights because the smell was so bad. Me I would have to say this ship is a health risk

I'm stuck on how 2 people managed to sleep on the balcony. Did you use the chairs or did you move the beds?
