  1. My adventure of the seas 3/31/18 just went down from $54/day to $41/day...and the refreshment package that i want for my kids has always been $26/day and today it has a 30% off banner on it, but it still says $26/day--that doesn't seem right??? the 30% off should bring it down to $18/day (which is the price I want to pay for it!) Any thoughts on that from anyone? sounds like a website glitch to me?

  2. that is spring break week. we are on that cruise. its easter weekend. In the midwest all the high schools are on spring break the first week in april, so the years it coincides with easter are a bear for plane tickets! I bought mine already because I was afraid of availaiblity. they were $1000 from Detroit, Spirit was $800. They are higher now, I bought about a month ago. I have been doing this spring break dance with my kids for years-we just sigh and pay, and dream when we can vacation without them off season! We even looked at changing cruises, but flights to florida was $770 for the same week and the cruises were more expensive, so it was a wash. Good luck!

  3. one day the "expensive" jewerly store had free tiny loose black sapphires-and you could "upgrade" for $40 for a tanzanite necklace for earrings--was perfect for my teenage son to buy his GF as a gift....looks way nicer than $40 for a teen romance! on the last day they had some nice rings that were reasonable in price as well

  4. was just on Allure in June with a cousin with a 13yo son with similiar issues. the teen club was too unstructured and mature for him, as it was for my own 13yo son without Autism Spectrum Disorder. The child with needs was super happy in the group lower down and the staff was accomdating! the ship was totally packed with kids as well, so there was no space issue either! I think it will work out just fine!

  5. we got that package at the $18 price for our June 2017 cruise.....it was a spring sale. never saw anything for black friday, but we were likely too far out. At $18 it was worth it for all of us to get it....my kids learned they liked virgin Miami Vice's! And you can get smoothies and green juices from the spa, not sure at full price it would be worth it for us!

  6. It's one of the things that helps those of us who love them talk about to keep them from becoming too popular! :')

Most of the new ships are "onto" us and have made those aft spaces into fancy suites (on Anthem and Oasis class) so they can charge a premium. I haven't seen too many people report about them, I wonder if many of those big suite passengers are often onetime or new cruisers who may not know about CC?

I'll have a few old favorites booked in the next year...Liberty deck 7708 corner aft and Navigator 7688 corner aft. I'll post lots of pics after I sail. One is for a theme charter cruise I'm taking with a half dozen friends. I'm excited we will have that larger balcony to gather, since some people in our group is sailing in an interior cabin.

well soot happened to us! my husband had to have 2 pairs drycleaned from sitting on the chair before wiping all the soot off! we were not in a suite, it was some kind of slightly larger balcony cabin on Mercury (Celebrity) in Alaska.

  7. we had an aft balcony on a celebrity ship once and got all kinds of soot blow back on our balcony-we had to constantly check the chairs for soot and clean them and the floor off before sitting down......we didn't like that! Therefore, we haven never gotten an aft cabin again! Has this changed? could this have been a fluke?

  8. Bonaire is the snorkel capital of the Caribbean. So that is clearly what you want to do there.

If you want to do it on your own here's how:

After you get off the ship exit the pier and turn left along the main street. There are booths (you will see them) and find the water taxi to Klein Bonaire. Get your tickets there.

Walk a bit further down the street to where the ferry loads. 20 minute trip to the uninhabited island of Klein Bonaire. Lovely long beach (but no shade) and you can drift snorkel right from the shore and drift along (direction of current is right to left as you face the water). The reef drops off only about 50 yards off the beach. You have both reef and deep water at the dropoff. Really excellent snorkeling! In our experience only the Great Barrier Reef beats it....and that's a long way to go.

Water taxis run every hour on cruise ship days and are very dependable. It's a great day.

this sounds great! and if Bonaire is safe, im not worried aobut going off on my own, but how do you get snorkel gear?

  9. You are looking WAY too far out...the prices tend to drop around the 45 day mark...then start rising again about 30 days out....you usually have a 2 week window of somewhat affordable prices.

the only problem with that is there are not a lot of seats left or good flight times. our experience here in michigan is for spring break the best prices are the first month seats are open (a year in advance) after that they sky rocket.

we just bought seats to san juan for $1k each....I think we missed the cheaper window by at least a month. I was picking seats for the return flight home and they are already sparce! by October there will be few good return flights.

  10. we did the non alcoholic drink package, on sale for $18/day. between bottled water and coffee it was worth it for us....I think lattes were $4.50 each.....I was 1 latte in the early am, 1 iced late morning, and someimtes a cappucinno at dinner. the brewed coffee was not good. other option is to bring a starbucks card loaded with money and get your coffees there. IMO nothing on Allure was ever too packed or crowded, never waited too long for drinks. NOTE:if you have a package and want 2 lattes, they want you to swipe 2 cards, so a few times I forgot DH's card and almost had a problem.
