We used to have an apt in Rio.  A caipirinha is nothing but muddled (lots of) limes and cachaca (a white sugar cane rum) and ice.  I'm a wimp so also add some sugar.  Two is our limit.  Our fave place knows that we like more ice so we can dilute them that way 🙂  If you haven't been to Brazil before I hope you have a fantastic time.  We'll be there in December and cruise to Buenos Aires.

Thanks. We'll be doing the Amazon, and are looking forward to it. Maybe the bartender will know how to make one.

No Rum!!! Rum is the pirates drink and we wouldn’t want to encourage Pirate confrontations! Besides drinking rum can lead to dancing! We’re not talking ballroom dancing here, we’re talking shake your booty dancing til the wee hours of the morning! Can you imagine the horror, the disgust, the outrage some would express if they thought others were shaking their booty and having a good time until the wee hours??!! 😱😱

Definitely NO rum can be brought aboard! O probably even sparsely dispenses it to control the crowds! 😈🤥

Can you imagine if they let you bring tequila onboard. Everybody's clothes would fall off.😁

  4. The drinks in Michael's are part of your suite fare. They serve a menu of typical drinks, but not the fancy specialty drinks from say the Martini bar that many people purchase the premium drink package to access.

You can order and take your drinks out of Michael's. Michael's also has a cooler stocked with water bottles and cans of soda that you can take with you.

Unfortunately only one or two of the S class ships has the coolers. They also have a cabinet behind the bar where they keep the better liquor. All you have to do is ask, and they will usually get it for you.

  5. So it is not frowned upon to take a drink out of Michael's? I know at the Elite Cocktail party they do not want you taking drinks out of the lounge.

I've never had a problem. I've had the bar tenders make sure I have a drink or glass of wine to take to dinner. I suppose it all comes down to the concierge, but again I've never had a problem.

  6. Thank you all for the information. It’s interesting.

One question remain. So if I understand this correctly... in Michael’s club, you get the drinks from a Premium Pack for free?

Im thinking to just get a classic package then. So if I want something fancier, i can simply go there.

Michael's concierge and or bar tender arrive around 9am, and are there until around midnight. During that time you can get water, coffee, soda, mixed drinks, wine, beer, and you don't need a drink package. It's all part of being in a suite. Days in port, you're able to stop by and pick up water to go. Normally you're able to take a drink to go if you're meeting friends, or going to dinner.

  8. I am going to have a little rant here. I have done 65 cruises, mostly with RCL and Celebrity but includes most of the "top 10." It amazes me what people get their knickers in a knot about. Booking an expensive suite for an extra point? I do like a balcony but I would rather do two balconies for one suite. For what? A key chain? A bottle of paint remover that is labelled wine? Or umbrella or a drink or two? REALLY? Sure, I do enjoy the D+ concierge lounge to sometimes meet up with old aquaintances but it has astounded me the pages and pages of discussions regarding perks. These perks are WORTH NOTHING compared to the enjoyment that comes out of why you booked the ship in the first place! Surely it's not for the aforementioned trinkets!

I don't think those who book a suite are concerned about the trinkets. Most can afford to buy them, or a bottle of wine.

  9. I have over 350 points with RCCL, but only 7 with X. I'm Elite on X, because of my status with RCCL. I wonder if that will qualify me for the VIP status. When we sail 10/12 I'll be in Sky suite, and then a Celebrity suite on the TA. It will be interesting to see what happens.
