  1. I still can’t believe it.

We were booked on Q110B, Singapore to Tokyo departing on the 26th of March 2021.

On the 26th of August 2020 we received advice that the cruise had been cancelled.

Contacted the travel agent who requested a full refund, and received a confirmation from Cunard, on the same day.

Expected a delay of at least 60 days, and probably more, before seeing our refund.

Probable further delays for the TA to pass on the refund.

TA rang yesterday to say she had received the refund and wanted confirmation of our bank details so she could process the transfer.

Checked the bank 3 hours later and the funds were already in the account.

Given some of the horror stories on these forums of people waiting beyond 140 days we were stunned to have the money in our account in 14 days.

Hopefully others will receive their refunds in a similar time frame.

    Cheers,

    Oldace. 🍺

  2. Re the amended final payment due date.

It is now showing on the "Sailing With Confidence" page of the Cunard website, about 2/3 of the way down.

    Cut and Pasted below.

    Extended Payment Dates

As of 14 July 2020, for all voyages sailing on or before 31 March 2021, final payment is now due 30 days before sailing. This is much closer to sailing than our usual final payment due dates whch are between 120 and 90 days.

    Their spelling, not mine..!!

    Cheers,

    Oldace.

  3. Have been looking at cruises departing Singapore in March 2021 and noticed an alternative "Campaign Fare" which is cheaper then the Normal fare but has;

    1. No On Board Credit.

    2. $300 Non Refundable Deposit.

    3. Included Gratuities.

I started the booking process and on the "Checkout" page, just below the cruise details, I noticed "Before Your Voyage" that the St Regis Hotel in Singapore is included.

    Clicking "Edit Hotel" confirms this.

Rang Cunard (Australia) and was told that I was wrong.  I persisted and she looked up the website, saw what I was on about, put me on hold, spoke to a Supervisor and confirmed that 1 nights accommodation is included.

Rang our travel agent to book the cruise and he came back with the same response.  Went through the whole process again.  He rang Cunard and got the same answer, took the Cruise Specialist through the above and came back with the same price and with 1 night at the St Regis Hotel and transfers from Airport - Hotel - Ship included at no extra cost.

I am prepared to accept the conditions and have therefore saved more then AUD$2500 taking into account the cheaper fare, included gratuities and the accommodation/transfer offer.

I looked at a few different cruises, QE & QM2 at different cabin grades and all departures from Singapore in March 2021 seen to have the "Campaign Fare" with the above conditions and inclusions.  Did not look at other dates but it may well be available.

The downside is no OBC and the fact that the deposit is non refundable.

If you are happy to accept this you can save some money.   You will probably have to persist.

    Cheers,

  4. An update to my earlier post, #27, Page 2.

I raised a query with Cunard on the 6th of February and got a non-committal reply on the 8th of February.

It is now more then 6 months since I queried the unauthorized charge of USD$8.28 to my credit card.

As of today I have had absolutely no response from Cunard.

    Not very impressive.

    Cheers,

  5. An update to my earlier post, #27

I raised a query with Cunard on the 6th of February and got a non-committal reply on the 8th of February.

American Express cancelled the charge on the 12th of February and advised Cunard they had until the 10th of April to respond.

As of today, neither American Express, nor myself have had any response from Cunard.

    Not very impressive.

    Cheers,

  6. It's still happening.  ☹️

Disembarked the Queen Elizabeth on the 4th of February and my credit card was charged the expected amount on that date.

The next day an additional USD$8.28 was charged to my credit card.

I queried the charge with Cunard and received a very non-committal response.

Well over a fortnight now and no further response.

Raised it with American Express and they cancelled the charge on the spot.

Will see if I ever receive an explanation from Cunard.

    Cheers,

  7. Hello CABINET,

I had exactly the problem with the Australian site.

We are Platinum Members and have two cruises booked for late this year.

Had to re-enter all details but it would not accept our CWC numbers.

Sent an e-mail to the UK e-mail address asking about this and asked for them to manually update our details.

About a week later had a need to phone Cunard Australia and while on the line asked about it and the chap looked up our details and everything seemed to be intact which was good to know. He could see our voyage history and future bookings.

A few days later we got an e-mail reply from Cunard UK who said that they were aware of the problem and that they had manually entered our numbers. Well done..

The numbers still don't show in our online details but we are happy that our past history is still intact.

    Cheers,

  8. Nothing has changed......

Have been looking at Q902A Southampton to Fremantle (Western Australia), departing Southampton 3rd January 2019.

Asked on board Queen Elizabeth recently and was quoted AUD$11,599 twin share for a BE category stateroom.

Using the onboard wifi, the price for the exact same cruise & staeroom was 4,809 GBP, roughly AUD$8,129, a difference of AUD$3,470, or a difference of over 40%.

I asked the on-board cruise sales staff about the difference and, with a stern look down her nose, she advised that it was "Standard Currency Differences" ???

Sounds more like price gouging to me. Australians get screwed by lots of multinationals. An identical item can be purchased from Apple/Microsoft/Adobe/Ikea Etc. 25 - 50% cheaper in the US.:mad:
