  1. Hi all, just a few questions for my upcoming cruise-

How many plugs are there in the staterooms? I remember seeing a discussion a few yrs ago about taking an extension cord/outlet on the cruise and rules regarding what kind are allowed. Is it really necessary to take one? I will just be charging my phone and camera batteries as needed (plus any hair accessories as needed).

We have a balcony room, I know you cannot decorate/hang things from the balcony, but can we decorate the window/balcony door? I was thinking about taking some window clings.

Is room service available all night? I will be on the Freedom if it makes any difference.

For those with the Carnival credit card- do you pay off your cruise with it? I know for sure I want to connect my sign and sail cards to it.

Im sure I will think of some more questions :) Thanks in advance for all your help, I am really enjoying these boards.

  2.

My cruise for 2019 for the same cabin is $20 more when I check the current sale and you get $100 OBC so would be worth it for someone who doesn't already have it as you are then up $80.

Mine is $40 more for this current sale, so I am tempted to see what I can do to get that $100 OBC (I guess $60 really); I am probably going to drive my TA (outside company not Carnival) crazy by May, but I like to get the best deals I can!

  3. If you plan to take a tram tour at the Space Center, go online and get a "timed ticket" for the tour...it's free (as long as you paid admission) and you get to skip the line of those who did not get a timed ticket...just have to make sure you arrive to the location 15 mins before the time you picked. I went in July and there was a huge line, glad I had gotten that timed ticket ahead of time. We skipped everyone :D The tram tour last around 45 mins to 1 hour from what I remember.

  4. How far out from your cruise do you usually notice price drops that would allow you to apply for the onboard credit? Is it just random? Also, where is the form to fill out? I keep checking the fare viewer, but all the prices are more expensive than what I paid- My cruise is quite some time away, though :)

  5. Firemanbobswife, you said you can save more if you purchase the social plan ahead of time. I haven't heard about this. How much do you save and where do you purchase it? I always buy the weekly plan once I'm on board to save a few bucks. Thanks!

Go to the Fun Shops on carnival's website and you can purchase it there; it's 15% off your purchase for doing it ahead of time, I believe.

  6. Thanks for posting this, I was wondering the same...I think from the replies I've read, I will just get the basic package, I just want to be able to message my mom on FB while cruising. My phone company covers me at the ports I will be at, so not worried about anything there.

However, question-- When I try to purchase the internet package, it pops up all the names of people in my cabin and has check marks by them, does this package have to be purchased for each individual in the cabin? Or can I just check my name?

BTW RNsoontobeNP love the name! Congrats! :)

  7. Thank you all for your replies! Only OBC I have so far is $50 so not much lost if I do decide to upgrade, still unsure yet.

For those who have stayed in an ocean view and balcony...was the balcony worth the upgrade for you? Right now it's like an extra $100/pp if I remember correctly, for me to get a balcony. Still stuck between getting one and just saving the extra $200. I do love balconies, though :')

  8. Hi all! :D

This will be my 2nd cruise with Carnival, so I'm still figuring out how things work. Im going in May 2018 on the Freedom and booked through a TA. I got the deal where they upgraded me from a 6A to a 6C Oceanview, but I'm curious, does Carnival ever offer upgrades from ocean views to balconies for those who have already booked? Should I contact my TA or carnival for that?
