I saw that too this morning.  I put my thumb to icon on the screen and nothing happened.  Then I remembered I was on my desktop.

My laptop has a thumbprint reader for work security... I may have spent a solid few minutes wondering why my thumb reader didn't work 🤣

  2. August 5, 2022

    Dear Carnival Guest,

We are pleased to share that our COVID protocols continue to evolve. We remain, as always, committed to the health and safety of our guests, crew and the communities we serve. Effective August 8, 2022, guests should be guided by the following COVID-19 testing requirements related to cruises visiting The Bahamas. This applies specifically to itineraries 5 days or shorter only:

Vaccinated guests do not have to present a COVID test result at embarkation.

All unvaccinated guests must present the negative results of a pre-embarkation test – either a supervised PCR or an antigen test taken up to three (3) days prior to embarkation.

For complete information on vaccination and testing requirements and other protocols, please visit our Have Fun. Be Safe. page here.

We apologize for the late notice but trust you will find this to be good news.

We look forward to welcoming you on board for a FUN and memorable Carnival cruise.

    Sincerely,

    Christine Duffy

    President, Carnival Cruise Line

Very interesting! Do you get to request a certain style or genre of music to be piped into your headphones?

There is usually two different stations that you can switch between on your headphones. So if you don't like what's playing on Channel 1, swap over to Channel 2

Also, although the Cheers is in effect, you still had to pay taxes on the drinks until about 6 PM. Some kind of “Mobile, Alabama” rule.

There are a few Port Specific laws that effect Cheers. TX & NY don't allow cheers on Day 1 Period. Alabama (my wonderful 🙄 home state) requires to collect taxes and have a separate stock of alcohol to be tracked by the State Alcohol Board, so if you were there once you hit international waters the bar actually closes so they can remove and completely restock all the bars.

    Glad you enjoyed Carnival!

When were the comedy shows cancelled?  Been on 6 since restart and shows on every cruise?  The mdr having steakhouse items is an OPTION.  Been around  for years.

I didn't say they were... You asked what things would make people cancel a cruise. If everything in MDR is for charge & no comedy, that's the line for me.

Agree all around here.  Room service took an hour for us too.  It was late at night though, so was willing to give the breakfast a chance, but yeah, waking up an hour before the coffee gets there - Lord help whoever is rooming with me and has to put up with pre-coffee me for an hour.  🤣

I know you can order pizza and stuff through the app - can you do the breakfast?  And select a time?  If so, I'm fine with this change.  If not...

It says you can call and make the order the night before, you just don't have the tags.

You get a 10% discount if you purchase it before the cruise. Other than that, I have never seen a sale. There were some folks who got "Cheers Included" cruise offers but those seem to be gone and I haven't seen them coming back.

They are available now I just booked one for this month. 4 Nights on Liberty. Taxes, Gratuity and Cheers Included totaled out to $800.

  8. I'm sure these questions get asked a ton & I've tried to find the answer with no luck, so decided to ask 😅

We have Cheers for our next cruise & my wife enjoys shots, will she be able to get shots from the Dining Room or other locations included with Cheers, or will we have to pay for them as some come with a glass?

Do they sell coffee cards for specialty coffees?

You will get a loyalty punch card, on the Valor in December it was Buy 10 Get 1 Free.

Are the baked goods at the cafe complimentary or is there a charge for them?

It depends on which baked goods they are, they usually had small things for free, and others with a charge

  10. We are going on a cruise again in a couple months on the Carnival Sunshine, a vacation I love taking & a ship I love being on, I thought I was going to be ok, but I'm not apparently.

Yesterday we made final payment, so I should be excited right? Not really.

The last time we took a cruise, we were on the Sunshine & the ballast went out one night (Halloween Cruise 2018) & we tipped so far I nearly was flung out of our room onto the balcony & we were very close to sinking, our side of the ship going into the water.

I had no issue continuing on that cruise, ***** happens & we were safe. We drive cars daily when people die/crashes happen so going again should be ok.

But this morning going to work I broke down. What if if happens again? What if this time when it happens I'm nowhere near my wife to keep her safe. What if we do start to sink & we're apart, how do I know she gets out?

I can't stop thinking about the worst.

  11. I agree that if I find one  or a dirty rock that it will be thrown away as I assume a steward or the person before me did not clean the room/public space. I want to know that all is clean so nothing breaks out such as noro, but if something is being hidden & left alone who knows how clean something is.

  12. After adding in the travel expense & excursions we would want... the 5 day on Ecstasy will be about $1500 less than the 6 day on Magic.

We are looking at an 8+ day cruise in May 2020 for a 5 year anniversary, so it looks like the best to do is the 5 day. Thanks for all the input.

Yowzers!  I had no idea that many people would dress up for Halloween on a cruise!

Would you say the majority of the passengers dressed up, or more of a case of for everyone who did, they tended to congregate in one or two areas, and the rest of the ship was full of non-costumed guests?

Now considering a Halloween cruise in 2020...  (Can't go in 2019, already have a cruise booked in September!)

We were there, and it was honestly 80% of the ship. Kids had trick or treating & it was a caravan party that started in the Comedy Club, moved to Ocean Plaza, Love & Marriage Show and then Deck Party. The Deck Party was one of the largest I have ever seen & everyone there was dressed. Even some of the wait staff had costumes.
