  1. :)

The “shuttles” are full size tour buses. And the majority of people have their luggage stored in the lower luggage compartment (there will be space for a walker).:D:D:D

Thanks for taking the time to post, well done, and will improve our Cruise on 6/23.On another post about the Jewel out of Seattle, there was talk about the first day at sea being rough and people feeling a little sea sick, I know the Bliss is much larger and that is one of the reasons my wife is willing to go.Just wondering if anybody noticed any rocking and rolling when they opened the speed up and on the way back to Victoria?

    Thanks!!

  2. Disembarkation.

They set the gangway at 6:00. The ship was cleared was cleared for self walk-off and complimentary Port Valet at 6:40. The Port Valet, which allows you to check overweight bags at no extra charge, was VERY popular.

Color tag bags which were suppose to be available starting at 8:00 am, we’re not available until 8:40.

There was a short line for Customs and they were only doing a passport check.

Shuttles to the airport cost $20 per person and leave frequently as soon as they fill a bus.

Where can I sign up for bus shuttles?

Also thanks to people like you, we will have a better cruise experience starting 6/23.

Thanks to all who take the time and pictures so we can have a better cruise!!

  3. OMG. Puppies???!!!!!????? We are sailing on the Westerdam next week. We stop in Skayway. Will I be able to smell the sweet scent of puppy breath??????

Don't know but, they might leave a present to sniff...

  4. That's what I was thinking too, but when I compared the price of the train ticket, plus the cost of the rental in Anchorage, renting a car in Seward and returning it in Anchorage before our flight pretty much evens out. Also, the train out of Seward doesn't leave until 6 pm. The way I figure it, if we rent a car, we can pick it up early in the morning after we get off the ship and have the entire day to sightsee. I just don't know what to sightsee or where to stay.

Girdwood - halfway between Seward and Anchorage.

Staying at the Alyeska resort check out there web sight, Based out of there we are visiting Portage Glacier, ATV tour, helicopter 15 minutes each way to go dog sledding on a glacier.Alaska Nature Center tour. All close by. Also Tram to the top of the mountain at Alyeska, world renowned restaurant, we booked 2 nights for dinner.

  5. i was looking at Port of Seatlle port valet they show there service is offered on NCL in Seattle. There service is you put your bags outside your room on the last night like all cruises and the next time you see them is in your home city at baggage claim. From the ship they are delivered tomyour airline. Is this service available I called NCL they were not sure but said they were not sure, still trying to call the port of seatlle number always busy. What a great service sure hope it is available on our June 23 Bliss Cruise.

Only select Airlines, Alaska air, Southwest, maybe a couple of others.

Flights can't depart before pm for this service.

I believe the paperwork will be in your cabin to be filled out by Monday night of your cruise.

We are hoping to utilize it.

  6. So I've been allergic to crab for the last 10 years. I decided to get my allergies retested on the off chance they had changed. Great news' date=' I'm no longer allergic to crab. Testing it out this weekend. So were would be the best place to get crab in Ketchikan? We don't have anything planned there. I don't think we would be interested in a crab feast since I'm not sure how much my son likes crab.[/quote']

Try Annabelle's or, Alaska Fish house

  7. Hi, we will be on May 11 Breakaway Baltic and I just placed my bid today. I did a mock booking and its showing a lot of sold out havens. How would I know the number of Haven cabins left?

As of today, H - 4 Haven 2 bdrm Villa shows 5 cabins not booked yet.5 cabins still available.

H - 9 Haven Spa showing 1 cabin still available.

Both on NCL and Priceline websites

  8. Same with me. I just check to see how many cabins are available in the category.

Sent from my SM-G930P using Forums mobile app

I think the real thing for people to do is, instead of checking in hopefully to see if they get upgraded by the upgrade fairy,

to check what cabins are for sail by Priceline.

Example; booked a Spa Mini Suite on Bliss June 23rd cruise, 80 days out got the upgrade e-mail and bid on Haven categories.

I noticed the only category I bid on that was not sold out was the Haven H - 5 which are showing 7 suites left at $ 8499 p/p on NCL's website. I also noticed Priceline has those same exact cabins on their website for the same $ 8499 p/p.

I'm thinking NCL wants us to bid on many on different categories in this case, my interest is Haven categories even if they are sold out, in case somebody backs out of their booking. therefore the cabin is filled quickly and the trickle down effect begins in a quick and orderly manner.

I feel the 7 unsold cabins will not be released until Priceline pulls the plug on selling those cabins, probably 2 days before the cruise? I have booked hotels and cars through Priceline before, even had to travel last minute for work, one time I stopped home to pack after notified of same day travel I tried to book a room through the Hilton website and found the hotel was sold out for that night. I went on Priceline and was able to book a room at that hotel.

When I arrived at the front desk, they told me they were sold out until i showed them my Priceline paperwork printed out 3 hrs. before. I'm guessing Priceline will release any of the 7 suites they didn't sell 2 days before the cruise.

Just my thoughts on the subject. in the mean time i hope my theory is wrong. Either way I will have a great cabin on a great ship. Good luck to all that have bid, don't drive yourself crazy checking back, hope for the best and a quick upgrade!!

  9. What day of the week is it? You may be able to pull it off, but check the Mariner's schedule as the ball park is between the port and the airport with a day game it could be a traffic issue. Worst comes to worst there was an inexpensive excursion last year when we did the Pearl that toured the city, then dropped you off at the airport. One other thing if it is offered use the port valet service that Seattle has, no searching for your bags they go right to the airline you don't have to deal with them till you get home, and it's FREE.

    Awesome information!!!! Thanks
