  1. I have spoken two CSR from Chase Sapphire Preferred. If each of us pays for part of the cruise with our own card, the travel benefit applies to both card holders.

    So I have been approved for a card and my husband already has his. This will give us each 10K in trip cancellation and interruption. I am happy with that.

    I will also get 50K bonus points for spending 4K in the first three months. Final payment for the world cruise is October 8. We are planning on using the Chase cards to pay for 10K of the trip each.

    Bottom line we will have 26K in credit card insurance. 20K from Chase and 6K from the Costco Citibank.

    If there are other cards that I should know about, please advise. :D:cool::halo:

    Quick question.. history real quick. We paid down payment $1000 with Chase sapphire preferred and the rest with the new card from southwest visa (trying to score free flights with points). Would the benefit still apply to us even if it was partial payment thru chase?

  2. Yes, happened to me. Same deal as everyone else said. I was looking at my cruise and magically every promotion was deleted causing the price to go up by over $1000.

     

    What's worse is Royal doesn't send a receipt of any kind for your booking. I got two e-mails. One saying they got payment for the deposit, and the amount of the deposit, but nothing about remaining balance due or total cost. The second was one pointing me to the online cruise account.

     

    I did, however, take screenshots of everything when I booked and saved those off, so I at least had proof of the quoted price.

     

    I called, they fixed it, they didn't give me all the OBC I had, went back, finally got it all fixed plus an extra $50 OBC for the trouble. Didn't take an hour though, maybe 15 minutes. They said something like "Looks like you tried to change a passengers name..." but I hadn't. I did mess with trying to add C&A numbers (really I was trying to sign my wife up). After they fixed it, they did send me a copy of the booking with all the details and price.

     

    I also agree with the others. This has happened to so many people, over so long of a time ... it's extremely difficult to believe it's a total accident at this point...

    You are right. Booking on their website, they do not a confirmation email with details. They send it only when you book or make changes thru their 1800 number. From now on I shall screen shot!!

  3. Something like that happened to me as well. I booked a short last minute 4 night cruise for 2 for a little over $700, and paid in full. I booked on RCI's website. Of course, final payment was due then. I received an email back saying I had submitted full payment. When I went online, it said the price of the cruise was over $1200 and I owed over $500. I called, and spent over an hour on the phone and on hold. Finally it was fixed. The price of the cruise had changed the day before, when I grabbed the better price, and I don't think their website had kept pace with the new price. I was patient, but it was frustrating.
    Sorry this happened to you as well. For me i didn't grab any better price or anything. Booked it with the current promo and the same promo is in effect right now and somehow the promo price just dropped out of nowhere. Anyway I think it's important to just be vigilant. These days even a computer has a mind if his own. [emoji13]

  4. That just happened to me too this morning. All I did (I think) was click the "Add Crown & Anchor Numbers" link (even though I'm pretty sure I did that making the original reservation) and added the numbers. After doing that, all the Modify buttons became available, my second guest 50% off and OBC disappeared. Made a phone call and it was straightened out...

    Seriously when I called to restore the original rate, what they offered me was few hundred dollars more than what I bought. And when they reinstated my original rate which is what the current promotion offers, they acted like they were doing me a huge favor. Obnoxious seriously.

  6. I'm not thinking it's a "glitch" anymore.:rolleyes:

     

     

    I can guarantee you that if the "glitch" was causing people's prices going down $1000, they would fix it really fast. This has been going on for years.

    And it was amazing how they hung up on me when I questioned the onboard spending credit that went missing as well. It was like "give me few minutes to look into it" CLICK. [emoji35]

  7. Booked for allure of the seas may 13, 2018 on monday. Total was approximately $2800. So today I went on cruise planner to check out some info and saw that my balance was over $5000!!!! After spending an hour on the phone with them, things are squared away. But wow.. what if I didn't check??? I mean the balance isn't due til February. Does this happen often? Now I feel like I have to go on the account every so often just to check. [emoji30]
