Our last cruise was Indy in Aug 19 around the Med , we had been on Empress in the January 19 to Cuba and getting away on two cruises in a year was amazing. We had Anthem booked for November 2020 TA Southampton to NY via Bermuda. Gutted it was cancelled and I am going into cold turkey wanting to get away but don’t think it will happen this year. Hopefully things will improve and we can see some light at the end of the tunnel and we can book with confidence.

The issue of vaccines needs to be sorted out as well, will the US, Canada and Europe all accept the vaccines approved in those countries and not approved in theirs? This will be an issue with us travelling from the UK to cruise state side or on a TA finishing in the US and not being allowed in! So many factors need addressing before we contemplate going on another cruise.

Independence (Freedom class) has done Med itineraries before out of Southampton. Not sure of schedule in future years.
We sail out of Southampton on 27th July for 14 nights around the Med and have sea days before the first stop (3 days before Gibraltar) days 3-9 port each day, day 10 at sea, 11 and 12 ports before two more days at sea before returning to Southampton. A lot of ports days and some sea days, we chose this due to the dates and the fact that we can as others have said get off and do our own thing. Looking forward to it and am counting the hours and days down. Whatever you chose do it for what you want and enjoy the holiday.

Both my parents, my wife and I are sailing on the Indy at the end of this month around the Med, we have sailed on her before but not been the JR. I will try it this time and as we have the drinks package, will see if the milkshakes are included.

We are on the 27th July Sailing 14 nights and are looking forward to it. We sailed on the Indy on a transatlantic a couple of years back and really enjoyed it. Thanks for your information, look forward to more.

Yes, but 30% off what? As earlier in the thread, the BOGOF didn't really compute.
It was 30% off the original price that was quoted on the site. So a good deal for us, save me about £300 so very happy.

There is a 30% sale on the drinks package at the minute until 25th June. We are booked on IOS end of July and I have just made a good saving on a 14 night sailing.

38 Days to go until we sail in IOS. Can't wait

We like the carnival breeze. We think the food choices and quality is better on carnival than royal. Royal ships are more glamorous and the entertainment is superior but we still go back to carnival. There is good and bad to both. Now I would not do a 3-4 night cruise on carnival because of the young Rowdy people.
Your last sentence is spot on, made that mistake and it really was a rowdy cruise.

We started our cruise experiences on Carnival and the moving on to RCL, we really enjoyed the trips we had with Carnival however we feel that we have taken that step forward going onto RCL. Both are good at what they do and have pro's and con's to each. It really depends on what you want and how you want to spend your time. I would have no hesitation booking a Carnival trip over an RCL one if the itinerary was what I wanted but do prefer RCL.

Thanks for the information as we sail on the 27th January 2019 on the Empress, and visit Nassau on the last day of the cruise. How long is the trip? We would like to have a little shop in the market before we get back to the ship.

Thank you for the replies, we have an Alamo car so all should be good to hop onto a shuttle.
Many thanks

Hi all, we are travelling down from Orlando on Sunday 27th to board Empress of the Seas, however we have to leave our hire car at Miami airport. Can you give me and my better half any advice on how to get to the cruise terminal. Thanks in advance. Roy.

Do you know if the Apps will work on Empress of the Seas? We board on 27 Jan.

It’s best to have a bit more than you think you need just in case. We tend to have an amount set aside for our whole trip (coming over from the UK) however we don’t spend too much on board as we prepay and have the drinks package as we feel the prices on board are quite steep, that is unless my better half has a few nights in the casino!

29 days until we are on the Empress of the Seas!!!!!!

We did book it through the ship because we had onboard credit to use up. We paid $89 and that included lunch and the ferry ride to the beach, and beach toys too.
We are travelling at the end of January 2019 and will be docking at Nassau on the Monday 28th, how long is the trip to Blue Lagoon island, as we would like to look around the shopping etc as well whilst there. Thanks
Looks like Royal is off to a bang. Released today

My DW and I are booked on Anthem out of Southampton on 7th July, 4 night just at sea cruise. I will take the chance about it being cancelled but hopefully this will be the start of us getting back to normal and being able to enjoy our cruises.
