  1. HI all,

I am going to Shanghai on February 2nd. I fly into Pudong and my cruise port is Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal.

    1. Can you recommend a hotel that is located near lots of stuff? we only have the evening of the 2nd at the morning of the 3rd. I prefer to be on foot or use bikes.

    2. Is it better to stay downtown or near the Cruise terminal?

    3. Recommendations for transportation between pudong, hotel and hotel to cruise?

    Thank you so much,

    Ronnie

  2. HI Lovely local people on the West Coast. We are a Canadian family with four kids, so money is an issue.

Here is some of my conflict, and hoping to get some of your wonderful insight.

We will need to go from LAX to Hollywood walk of fame area. I was planning on taking an UBER.

We will be going for a day trip from Hollywood to Santa Monica the next day to do touristy crap. Can we use local transportation for this? Is this reasonable with four kids (ages 13, 15, 20, 20). Yes they are older. Yes they are useless lol, and mom needs to plan everything.

What is the most affordable way to get from Hollywood to Long Beach for our cruise. Again would it be Uber?

WE have to get from the debarkation to LAX. Again is uber the main way? Having never ever taken an uber before....Can you get ones that fit six people (mini van). Can you prebook them?

    Any guidance would be appreciated.

    Love a crazy Canadian mom.

  3. HI. I have been to Jamaica several times, and am aware of how aggressive the locals can be. However for me and my family of six to take a cab to doctor cave's beach (8 min drive) is 120 dollars, which is absolutely ridiculous! I mapquested it, and it's about a 50 minute walk, which I don't mind because we do like to walk and my youngest is 12 so that's not an issue. My question, is there anyone out there who has actually walked from the port to Doctor Cave's beach? Did you run into any issues? Am I really risking my life? Comments are greatly appreciated! In tow is a husband, 2 18 year old girls, 1 large 13 year old boy, and a 12 year old girl.

  4. How I save money

    1. Book my own excursions (which are usually personal, tailor made, and half the price- In Belize my family of four stood deep in the jungle hand feeding howler monkeys. Doesn't get cooler than that!)

    2. Smuggle my own booze on. Use my magic bullet, ice and fruit and make my own free froo froo drinks.

    3. Use the free sauna rooms, free luxurious sauna showers, and sign up for the free tester sauna treatments.

    4. Drink free at captains party, welcome back party, and auction.

    5. Make a snack bag from the buffet bar when I go out on the island. My 9 year old would rather eat dry cereal than rice and beans anyways! lol

    6. Research everything through and through. If I can take public transporation, its usually 10% the price, and 100% more authentic and enjoyable.

    7. Bingo really is a rip off...but I still sometimes get suckered into it.

    8. Spend only 20 at a time in the casino. And always try to play to get even, not to win LOL.

    9. Take advantage of all the great things like the shows, the movies, the minature golf, working out, the little shows, tour of the kitchen, ect.

    10. Spend money on the things I really love such as the supper club (and yes it's worth every single penny!
