  1. Hey there!

On Carnival's FAQ website it has a list of things that are not included in the price of your cruise, and while "internet" and "phone calls" are on there, so is "use of your smartphone". Does anyone know what this means? Are they just reiterating that there's no phone or internet service, even using data on your phone, or are they saying that there's an extra charge to have a smartphone? I hope this is a dumb question and everyone will say "obviously you're allowed to bring your phone on board and use it for non-internet/data/calls" but want to double check that it's just me being overly cautious and I won't get an extra charge for taking photos with my iPhone :)

  2. Wow kind of surprised at the debate I sparked! I've gathered that I'll have to speak with the room steward and maybe a supervisor to see what we can do. Maybe if I offer them an extra tip they'll go along? It's only a 5 day cruise, and like a previous person said, I definitely don't change my sheets and towels or clean the bathroom over a 5-day span at home so it just seems super unnecessary while on vacation.

I'd be happy to check in with the steward every day if they need to see that we're alive, and it's not like I'll be able to lock the door from the outside so they'd be able to get in if there's an emergency while I'm not there so I'm not really seeing why it'd be a huge deal. Hopefully I'll have a quick conversation with the room guy and we can reach an agreement.

    Thanks all!

  3. I'm going on a carnival cruise for my honeymoon next month and it's the first cruise I've been on. I travel a lot for work and have had various problems with people entering my hotel room (nothing bad like stolen items, just general moving things around or throwing out stuff I wasn't done with) so I always keep the 'do not disturb' sign up or ask the hotel desk to hold off on cleaning. Is this something I can do on the cruise ship? Will the cabin stewards respect the 'do not disturb' sign and stay out even if I'm not in the room?
