  1. I purchased 100 shares from IRA account, received the $250 OBC for a 15 day cruise + $45 dividend and sold it for a $400 profit two weeks later. Don't know if I will cruise again in the future. But it was a great way to get the OBC fast. My son did the same thing. Everything to gain and nothing lost. I am happy with that.

  2. Booked 4 guarantee lowest obstructed view OZ rooms for family 4 months in advance. Got one OV, one OF and two OC, one day after final payment. All over the ship. "Upgrades"? They are the rooms no one would book before final payment. One of the OC rooms was a 4 person with bunks hanging off the sides of the wall. I was told by Princess, you can change your room assignment only back to an OZ category if you don't like the "upgrade" (what you paid for) So we took the one OZ room they had left as it was a 2 person. They would put us together in OW category, but the rooms that were left were 4 totally obstructed rooms. The OF room is the same type as GEOHERB had in post #6 (the one that "I wouldn't wish on anyone") . P206 is a room that only one night stand can fit in as it is in the front of the ship. Maybe the "upgrade fairy" will be very kind to you and give you a meta-upgrade or upsell. Did not happen to us. I did research on our rooms and most said they were happy with them. In the eye of the beholder.

  3. Absolutely they can move you! We booked our family of 8 people for 4 OZ lowest obstructed view cabin guarantee. 1 day after final payment, we were given our cabins all over the ship. My son was given a 4 person "6 category upgrade" cabin and we called to get him a 2 person. They would only give us a cabin that was in OZ so we took it as he did not want a 4 person with bunks in the way. We have 1 OV room deck 8 mid, 1 OZ room deck 8 forward, one OC room deck 5 mid-forward, and one OF room deck 5 forward. All are different categories. Cannot get our rooms together. You are lucky they gave you rooms together in the first place.

  4. Has anyone snail mailed it?

Yes, I snailed and faxed on the same day. Fax was down for 4 days and did not go thru so I decided to snail. The next day fax was working and received my credit THAT day after I called them to make sure they received it. Snail took about a week and was declined even though I faxed a week earlier. Received an email saying my trade confirmation was NOT acceptable, but the same trade confirmation was accepted thru fax. I guess it depends on who gets the information and Apparently that person did not check my personalizer because the credit was already there.

  5. I faxed mine in yesterday and waited a couple of hours. no credit. then I called them at 3:30 pst and she looked thru her list but could not find it. They go by time. So she asked if I could fax it to her while on the phone as I do have a dedicated fax line and she received it and credited the account while on the phone. Very nice employee to deal with. No form needed. Just type a cover letter with Reservation #, Ship and sailing date, your name and phone number and a copy of your account from broker showing at least 100 shares of CCL stock held with your name on it that is the same as the name of the person in the stateroom and reservation # info. Fax # is 661-753-0180 and phone number to talk to the rep is 800-872-6779 ext. 30317

  6. The prepay is not bad if you use the 110% guarantee option but they already charged my credit card for it so I only get OBC. It takes some internet search but if you can find the excursion online it is usually cheaper. I received $25 pp x 6 of us back in OBC by finding the excursion from the tour company directly and emailing the form into Princess before the cruise. So prepaying was a good thing on that one But another excursion is listed on Princess as a "from (price). with an asterisk that says Prices are based on the amount Princess typically charges for each excursion, but your price may vary by voyage date and departure time..

My voyage date and departure time is $20 per person more than what is normal. That is wrong! Some get charged $109.95 but I get charged $129.95 for the same excursion. That is just gouging us. I cannot find this exact excursion to price match yet.

  7. We booked 4 guarantee OZ obstructed view (lowest category) cabins for our family of 8. After final payment, they gave us our cabin assignments that day. Two OC and one OF cabins on deck 5 and one OV on deck 8. One of the OC unobstructed cabins was for 4 so the overhead bunks were a BAD upgrade so I called and they would only give us another cabin in OZ what we paid for. There was 1 cabin open in OZ at the time of calling in so we switched out that room to a 2 person room on deck 8 in the OZ category (a big downgrade). My son would rather have an obstructed view over looking a tender than bunk beds in the way. Our OV obstructed category room is next to the panoramic elevators mid ship. Hopefully that will not be a mistake. The OF Unobstructed category room is one of the smaller rooms front of ship with only one side table and the beds really only work as twins. We kept the other OC room as it does look to be a solid 2 person UNobstructed room. So Yes we were given "upgrade rooms" but none of them are rooms that would be booked by anyone if a room were to be chosen. All of our family is situated away from each other on different sides of the ship. Guarantee cabins not the best for us. All of these rooms that were given are rooms that are the last to go on most cruises. Does not matter if you are a past cruiser, shareholder or new cruiser, The computer puts you where it wants to and for the most part you are stuck with it unless you want to pay more. If I wanted to move my OV to an OC and be with the family closer it would cost us $300 more per person, but moving from OC to OZ we were given nothing because that is what we paid for. They would only let us move back to an OZ if we did not like any room. So it does not matter if you know about your room or not, you will get a room.

  8. Does anyone know the differences in the ship sponsored Pearl Harbor excursions? We are booked on the USS Arizona Memorial & Mighty Mo HNL105A. $129.95/pp. But I see that there are others now listed. Also does anyone know what tour company this particular excursion comes from? It is not listed. I asked in my roll call but no response and our roll call is really dead so far.

  9. I purchased my 100 shares of CCL the beginning of Nov in my IRA account. I called and they were having an issue with the fax machine and told me to send it in the mail. I still kept on trying the fax. Finally Faxed my transaction confirmation 4 days later and it took. Was posted to my Princess account that day. I called to make sure they had it and they did post it after my phone call. $250 for an upcoming 15 day cruise. I purchased it and it dipped enough to make a profit now and also made it to the ex-dividend on Nov 24th. Dividends pay out on Dec 15th. Then I received an email saying the mail-in was not accepted and that they would not accept a transaction confirmation but it has already been put in my account and is still there today. It does state that they will take a brokerage statement with name and address on it and the 100 shares owned. I won't have a statement till the end of the month but wanted it posted so I can make the decision to sell it or not. My husbands name is on the IRA account and he nor I booked the cruise or paid for it. It has to be that the owner of the shares is in the stateroom that the credit goes to. The $250 is all in his name, not mine in the princess personalizer under payments and credits. It is only one credit per stateroom. So far a win-win.

Cruises 6 days or less is $50, 7-13 days is $100 and 14 day or longer is $250.

  10. February Star Princess Just received our room assignments for the guaranteed obstructed oceanview OZ booking room today. 4 staterooms. My kids were upgraded from OZ to two OC unobstructed rooms, my parents to OF unobstructed all on Plaza deck 5 next to each other. But I got the short straw and was given an OV obstructed room on Emerald deck 8. Three decks away from all of them. Not looking forward to that. I called and they would do nothing about it. That is disappointing.

  11. Has anyone sold their stock after getting benefit in Princess account and before cruise? Anyway, to all that are asking or questioning getting the credit. I purchased 100 shares in my Rollover IRA account on Nov 10, 2017 when earnings came out and the stock went down a couple of dollars. Sent in screen shot of account showing the stock and was denied because no name on the screen shot. Then their fax system was down for 4 days. (make sure you call after you fax and they will look up to see if they received it). I faxed it 4 times and they did not receive because of their fax system problems on their end. I waited to get a trade confirmation of the buy and printed that out. It shows my name, address, and purchase. Crossed out the account numbers, buy price, sell price and pretty much everything on the statement but name and CCL 100 shares bought. Finally faxed it in the morning and my credit is now in my Princess account a couple of hours later. Now to decide if I should sell and take the small profit (it is back up again!), wait for the ex-dividend on Nov 24, sell by end of year, or wait for my cruise early next year.
