  1. What was he weather like in September? Any sight of the northern lights?

We had more mist, fog, and light drizzle than any heavy rain. And we had bits of sun on the first and last days which were sea days nearer to Seattle and Vancouver. Ketchikan had rain all day; they only have a few non-rainy days out of their entire year! Think rainforest!

The temps ranged from upper 30s-low 40s in Glacier Bay. Our Skagway day was probably mid to upper 50s---we had light jackets with us but both wore short sleeve shirts that day. I would say mostly overall about mid-40s to mid-50s.

No Northern Lights. We were too far south. I think on rare occasions they may be able to see a few in the Juneau and Skagway area.

    Thank you

  2. In all of our 13 cruises to Alaska we've only seen the Northern lights once and that was about 2010. You have to be out on deck about 3am if they are going be visible.

My husband is a night owl. If anyone will see it he will.

  3. There's not a good way to predict it and we are (probably) entering the solar minimum, so this summer, you probably won't see a lot of activity, no matter how far north you are.

We are going in 2019. Crossing fingers!

  4. Msc is different than us cruises. We had people complaining on the davina that they didn't have burgers and fries. In my world fresh mozzarella and pasta beat burgers any day. It definitely has a European vibe.
