    Yeah. The 17th.
The port of Miami is currently closed and not expected to open until 11:15 with several ships ahead of us in the que. The current advisory said our ETA at the terminal will be 1:15. I suspect that is optimistic.

To VVs credit, they haven’t started asking us to ‘vacate our cabins and wait quietly in the public spaces until they announce we can disembark’.

I’m watching the live cam now. Two ships are now docking (MSC Divina and Oasis of the Seas) so at least we’re moving in the right direction.

We just got the update on our arrival time and it’s now arriving Monday at 11:15 not 7:00.

The Notice advised us to contact our airlines asap if necessary. “YOUR SAFETY IS OUR NUMBER ONE CONCERN.”

Do you mean Sunday as in today at 11am? Asking because I’m to board Scarlet Lady today and we’ve been told to arrive at the terminal 2 hours later than our current arrival time.

This massive storm is effecting all of the ports in Florida and will be effecting us until about noon on Sunday. I’m on Scarlet now and we’ve been getting our butts kicked since we left on Wednesday.

No announcements regarding our arrival time on Sunday but I can’t imagine we will be on time. There are approximately 10 cruise ships fighting to dock on Sunday mornings.

I was on the sailing right before you (Dec 8-13) and we were lucky. Had some windy, rocky nights but no change to the itinerary. Did have shows canceled due to safety of the performers. I’m scheduled to be back on tomorrow. Keep us updated if you hear of a delay. Safe travels!

I want to try it! But I don’t eat seafood and would love some good veggie rolls which aren’t on the menu. I was just wondering if they would make it.

Hi there! They will accommodate you. I always order avocado rolls. And just did so on my last cruise September 17th on Celebration. Enjoy!

  5. We've been onboard since about 9:30pm. We completed muster right away, grabbed a drink at Golden Jubilee, then made a reservation for Chibang. Our table was ready immediately and we enjoyed our dinner and conversation with staff and crew. All of the staff is really trying their best to put on a smile, remain cheerful, and help everyone to relax and be excited for the trip. 2 out of 3 bags have been delivered to our stateroom. Not bad in my opinion. Guest services says they'll be delivering bags until 2am. We are still docked but watched NCL sail away. Lots of cheering from both ships as we waved goodbye and wished them well. Glad to be onboard after a long day for everyone. Will provide more updates if anything notable occurs.

  6. Latest text and email from Carnival. Passengers have been debarking for about 45 minutes. The terminal is a madhouse. The bad weather today didn't help because no one wants to go back to Bayside to wait it out in more rain. So I'm currently sitting on the floor in the terminal playing cards with my son. Taking it all in stride and looking forward to getting on board later tonight.

I've been following the information released from CCL, NCL, and MSC.

CCL has blown away it's competition today. Their updates are more frequent and the gesture of $20 plus busses to Bayside is above and beyond IMO.

I can find no confirmation that NCL or MSC are taking care of their passengers in a similar fashion. They might be, but that information is not free flowing.

    Bravo to CCL.

As a passenger on Celebration today I agree. I've made friends with people from our hotel and we all exchanged numbers. Those with NCL and MSC have been surprised by how well CCL has treated us. I'm on the bus headed to Bayside and everyone is in good spirits. The general consensus is that none of this is Carnival's fault. Here's our last text.

Carnival going above and beyond. Kudos to them.

I am currently in line for one of the shuttles to Bayside. Bags have been left with porters. My son and I took a train from South Carolina to Miami so we don't have a rental car. We had to check out of our hotel at 12pm so we were stuck hostage by our luggage. At least now the burden of luggage is gone and we will shop and eat until we're told that the Port is open. We really appreciate Carnival providing the shuttles and I can't wait to let their staff know how much we appreciate them.

Our cruise director has been giving us updates every 15 mins and guest services has been in overdrive helping people. There are quite a few people that have missed flights. One of the staff mentioned they have never seen anything like this before and we may have to switch ports. Has anyone ever seen/heard that before?

I cannot imagine that they would switch the port. Seems impossible when everyone is already here and waiting to disembark/embark. It would turn a nightmare into a disaster scenario.

I'm onboard Celebration right now. It's a lot going on. Someone onboard needs medical attention and the coast guard is doing a special embarkation for them. They said we may not be off the ship until 12. The staff here has been great handling the changes and trying to make special accomodations

Please keep us updated as you're able. I give Carnival a lot of credit because this isn't their fault and it seems they were the first to notify their passengers of the delay. I've been mingling with passengers at our hotel and everyone is appreciative of the hourly texts we've been receiving.

  11. Thank you all for the information. I'm very sorry to hear of the loss of life and my heart goes out to their families and friends. I hope that everyone scheduled to leave today has a safe and fun vacation despite our delay.

MIAMI -- A tragic boat accident just east of Pilot House Station at Dodge Island left one person dead and another hospitalized early Sunday morning, according to Miami Fire Rescue.

Around 3 a.m., officials were called to the scene.

Upon arriving at the scene, Miami Fire rescue received information that a roughly 30-foot-long vessel had struck a Fisher Island Ferry in the channel.

The ferry crew successfully retrieved the victim, who was then transported to Ryder Trauma in critical condition.

While being transported to the hospital, the victim informed paramedics that his friend was still missing.

In response, the Miami Dive Team was immediately dispatched to initiate a search and rescue operation.

Multiple agencies joined the efforts to scour the scene.

Shortly afterward, the missing friend was located deceased at the scene.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife agency is currently conducting an investigation.

Very sad. Thanks for this information Cole.

  13. Just received notice that the Port of Miami is temporarily closed to do a boating "incident". I was scheduled to board the Carnival Celebration today but they are delayed because they cannot dock. Only found 1 news article that doesn't explain much. Does anyone know what happened? I certainly hope that everyone is safe.
