  1. Didn't book excursions but we are going to mr sanchos for the all inclusive deal. mom goes all the time said definitely do this. $50 all you can eat and drink. not bad. Progresso we are just going to get couples massage. Can't wait. One more day of work then getting ready to cruise

  2. Have a good time on the Valor. You are allowed to bring a 12 pack of canned soda. If you have Cheers soda is included in the package so unless you are a major soda drinker and did it in your room shouldn't really need to carry it on board with you.

Yes Cheers covers drinks in the dining room. Some people find the bar service slow in the dining room and suggest bring a drink into the dining room to get you started.

Great thanks for explaining. I don't want there to be any surprises.

  3. Hey there! We're heading out on the Valor this Saturday too! This will be my second cruise but it has been about six years since then so I still feel like a newbie.

But I have been doing lots of research... to answer your question, you are not allowed to bring "bottles". On the FAQ web page it states that a small quantity (12per person) of non alcoholic beverages packaged in CANS is allowed.

We are planning to take cans of seltzer water and the like, but it must be brought in your carry-on bag, not your checked bag. Same goes for the bottle of wine that you are allowed to bring on, must be in the carry-on bag. Hope that helps!

  4. Hello,

First time cruiser here will be leaving on Carnival Valor this Saturday and well up until this point I have been planning on taking a 12 pack of soda with us because that's what everyone says to do. Today I received an email from Carnival about "Important Information" and scrolled through it going ok got that got this but then I saw this...

"Guests are not allowed to bring bottled beverages, i.e., water, sodas and other non-alcoholic drinks on board. Please review our beverage policy located in our FAQs at help.carnival.com"

Does this mean I cannot bring a 12 pack of soda or just no bottles. I have been told numerous time to take a 12 pack so I won't have to go searching for something to drink in the middle of the night.

Second, we opted to do the CHEERS! package because we like to drink and won't have a problem getting our monies worth on this. I know it doesn't start on day one, but my question is does this cover drinks at MDR?

    Thanks

  6. Here's my two cents. Husband and I cruise about once a year, we see gay couples on every sailing, polite hellos are exchanged in passing but because of times of the FOD gatherings we have never gone. On our last cruise my sister-in-law made friends with a gay couple but when we were introduced it was like we had the plague! I don't get it.

See and I don't want to be that couple.

  7. Uhhh, Mom,Dad. Is that you? Sorry, you remind me of my parents(at least at home)when out & about they were really very sociable, though.

Its ok we are the grumpy old couple in our group of friends. I am in my early 30s, husband is late 20s. We just enjoying relaxing is all. We met in a club 7 years ago, left that scene and just have done our own thing since then. It is going to be exciting to hang out with like minded individuals. We live in a very rural, very old fashioned, very small texas town so not much to do anyways except watch the grass grow.

  8. We act antisocial but we really aren't. We have friends but we really don't do anything. We are like 2 old men who sit at home and watch TV, read and have a beer with dinner and think that is a fun filled night. I would like nothing more than to be more social and meet & mingle while on the cruise. At the same time I would be perfectly fine sitting on my balcony with a book and just watch the water. I don't know yet. Haven't been on a cruise so don't know what to expect.

  9. My husband and I are going on our first cruise in 9 days.

We are typically anti-social, we were big into the club scene as 20-somethings but as we have progressed in age and tied the knot we have grown more and more anti social. I can also see the "I talk to strangers all day, don't want to do it on vacation" argument but at the same time it would be nice to mingle and meet new people, we maybe have 2 or 3 gay couples that we actually hang out with.

But other than that what do we do? Look for rainbows, follow the trail of glitter to the meet up spot? lol

Like I said, first cruise and we are doing it alone.
