Tess M Try the Continental Hotel at the top of the Ramblas in Barcelona. Funky, friendly and less costly than Colon. As far as safety is concerned I've traveled much of the world on my own with no problems. I suspect that if one drinks too much problems could crop up!;)

Always in the market for good solo rates. RCCL's Navigator of the Seas T-A (14 days) Barcelona to Galveston, Nov. 19, 2013 inside, catagory N for $1000 including taxes. Not the lease expensive or exciting itinerary, but a nice 2 week vacation!:)

Price reduction on Early Saver Carnival Destiny; Feb. 4, 2013 T-A 18 day from Miami to Venice. 4C inside midship totals out to $1147.58 plus $119 taxes. Solo for $70 a day is just fine with me. Ship will be undergoing a dramatic redo/name change so probably is NOT in top shape :)but its fun to do a T-A in February for a change.

Taznremmy-----I do love my TA's; have been known to do 3 in a year. Doing 2 this year including Ruby Princess in Oct (expensive), the Voyager in April as I mentioned and we will be together on Nov. 2012's Mariner of the Seas. You got the better deal as I'm paying $933.32 with $50 credit and taxes & insur. included.

taznremmy----I think I posted this a while ago when I booked; Voyager of the Seas TA, New Orleans to Barcelona on April 14. PR room and $50 credit for $1047 including all taxes. Insur. extra Better than staying home!;)

cfs2000, Thank you for your information on April 2012 Voyager of the Seas T-A. I booked a PR---solo of course---for $65 a day including taxes and insurance. Love this site. :)

FYI---booked Ruby Princess Oct. 19 T-A Venice 18 days for $133 per day in a "j" catagory including taxes and insurance. Not the best price ever but some med ports before the T-A. cc board on this cruise is 642 pages long!???

FYI, RCCL has a number of sailings advertised for their "Fourth of July Sale" at 150% and 175% for solo cruisers. Not GREAT by any means but ???????;)

Thank you Cruise Pup for the information on Caribbean Princess, Oct 23 from NYC to SJU. 150% is OK; several new ports for me including Bermuda. :)

Hi RELEVART---Carol I'm from San Diego too! :) Thanks for the suggestion of Port Compass to see Punto Tombo penguins. I'll check on that. Another question for you. Did you visit Port Stanley and if so which is the best shore excursion to take: Sparrow Cove Penguin Adventure or Bluff Cove Penguin Rookery. I'll be there March 14. Is there much walking uphill with these tours?
